Hello,

My g.f is on me for not telling her what I want for my b-day gift. She knows I want a Head Unit for my car but I really do not want her to spend a lot of cash on me.

Can anyone please suggest me a really good Head Unit for the price of around $200 bucks shipped and everything.

I was looking at Crutchfield, and they a Pioneer 4600MP for 179.99. I thought that was a good deal. What do you guys think?

But do they come with the harness and etc.

That is the reason why I like crutchfield. Those things comes free with any order of their HU.

What about the Alpine 9823? Also 179.99

If you are interested I can sell you my JVC-sh9750 in great condition and still has the celica wiring harness attached. If you own a gt you can just plug it in. Crutchfield was selling them for around $450 when they first came out, I can give you a good price. Comes with everything including box, you can even load your own pics on the screen. Let me know. Also click my sig. for pics and why I no longer need it.

I do not need a really good HU in general. Just a really good one for that price tag. As long as I can play CD-RW then I am good to go.

I really do not want her to spend a lot on me. I was not going to let her do this, but I feel a lot better now since I am paying for her newly build computer. Also, I can't refuse her offer because it makes her feel as if she cannot afford me stuff for my car. And this will be the first thing she will ever purchase for my car, something nice.

Thanks guys.

With a Head Unit. I already have an aftermarket Amp in my trunk. What else would I need?

Is it best to get it from crutchfield because it will come with a bracket and all the goodies for installation?

If your amp is already hooked up you dont need anything. You might need to run some rcas from the headunit to the amp if you are currently using speaker level inputs (used when hooking up amp to factory head unit). As for crutchfield it depends how much cheaper you can get the deck on ebay. If their isn't much of a difference it would be best to get it off crutchfield since you get the warrenty and install kit.

The install kit that comes when purchasing from crutchfield, it comes with the wiring harness right?

Also, my setup right now, is that the stock head unit is attached to an inverter which then runs back to the trunk to hook up into the Fosgate Amp. Does this mean that I would have to run a new set of RCA cable from the back trunk (Amp) to the new aftermarket HU, or can I get an RCA extension or something to go from the glove compartment to the aftermarket HU?

Cruthfield send you both the wiringharness as well as the install kit. You will have to run rca's (1-3 depending on your setup) from the amp to the back of the headunit.

Dont buy from crutchfield. They are so overpriced. Look on ebay first and then look at onlinecarstereo.com. A buddy of mine just got them to match ebay sellers prices.

Hey guys, I finally narrowed it down to two models. Please let me know which one is best for my purchase.

Pioneer Premier DEH-P460MP - $149.99 Shipped at Wholesale Matrix.

Alpine CDA 9825 - $156.90 Shipped at Wholesale Matrix.

Now once I get them, what else would I need for it to be installed onto my 2000 Celica GTS?

I would need a bracket and a wiring harness right? Where can I get that for the least expensive price.

Thanks.

Which one do you think is better Vaio, the Alpine or the Pioneer listed above?

Thanks for that site.

And which one to get?
METRA 99-8201 TOYOTA CELICA/ECHO 2000 DASH KIT
or
METRA 99-8202 TOYOTA 2000-2002 MULTI-KIT

I got the METRA 99-8201 TOYOTA CELICA/ECHO 2000 DASH KIT because it had a larger CD Pocket. But I had trouble installing my eclipse because when the face opened it hit against the dash kit. I had to aim it down a bit to get the unit of open and close correctly. The main difference is one uses the stereo face trim (muli) because the face sticks out a bit from the dash kit. The other one doesn't use the face trim because it sits flushly inside the dash kit.

Here are some pics of the diffences.

Looking to get around $225 shipped for it. It is in excellent condition and includes everything in the box, just like when I bought it. Here is a page to the specs.
