pull the ranny...its easier. I'm not about to go and do it myself, but as far as changing them goes, from what I've heard, its easier to just drop the tranny on a cradle, and go from there

clutch install should run you between 300-500 dollars. if you're going to run a Turbo, the TRD clutch would definately not be enough...i would go with either the ACT XT pressure plate and street disc or the RPS Turbo clutch. so all in all it would cost you anywhere between 700-900 dollars.

how big is the diff in pressure exerted by these clutches..and i dont remember in what thread but i also heard that sometimes more pressure wears your tranny out more??????????or something..i know it might sound like a noob question...but i dont know much about this..i ask because i bought my GT used and when i shift from 1st to 2nd its rough and was wondering if a TRD clutch would solve this prob...and im not going to be throwing a Turbo in so maybe TRD is the way to go...btw it only gets real rough when i go close to redline and shift quick...my first step would be a ss i guess. but a Performance clutch sounds like a good idea

Install is very simple and should take a good days work...just because i had to wait for my fly wheel resurfacing...but if you have an after market flywheel on hand no more than 4 hours for install...i know toyota takes it for the day...which sucks...I totally recommend the ACT Clutch and flywheel...HUUUGGEE difference from stock...

The Toyota book says 6.9 hours labour for a clutch. I just got a TRD Clutch put it and i am very very happy with it. The total damage was about $1350 CAD.
