Okay, the time is nearing & I am planning all the details ahead of time because I will be stuck without wheels until its done.

I have been working in the garage trying to prepare it the best I can. I have build a strong table to place both motors on while I swap parts from one motor to the other. I have made enought room for the car & hoist. The entire car will be on jack stands about 18" off the ground. Hopefully that will be enough to make it easy to work on.

1) The exhaust flange donut, spring & bolt kit is $93 wtf so I would like to reuse my old one. Can I?

2) When I pull the motor, will I be able to pull the motor/tranny together through the top?

3) Any other advice?

I need advice from someone who has changed a 7th gen engine.

Doo: you should proabably use a new exhaust set, if you take the hood off, and makje sure you disconnect EVERYTHING!! the motor and tranny should come out together...and my other advice would be to spend the $3.00 on a ream of paper and print out a copy of the celica shop manuals found in the gallery, under the technical section...if you go by those, it should help a very very great deal thumbsup

Yah, I have a cherry picker that I am borrowing from a friend. Its funny, I knew he'd have one cause he's a big time mustang owner. laughsilly

BTW, the auto tranny is about 180lbs & the engine is about 300lbs. My buddy Mike & I lifted the motor from the trailer to the homemade bench by hand. I was amazed how light it was. thumbsup

yeah, azzkikr is right. Go look for a 5 spd GT tranny, find one in some junkyard or something.

I can't see it on this website. Where do I get the manual?

Maybe if Isaac wants me to, I could take snaps & make a list of tools & basic instructions on how to. Not everyone can afford to pay a mechanic to swap an engine.
