i was wondering what the difference was between the gen 1, 2, and 3 injen Intakes. just curious. everyone seems to think gen 3 lags/bogs the least. why? did anyone notice design and pipe change? they all look the same. confused

i tried calling injen but no one is answering

I looked quickly on the "other site" and I'm not sure if the info is correct or if I should post it here because I feel like I'm stealing someone else's words. All I know is my early Injen Intake looks different than a new one and my filter points up like the new ones. I was going to call Injen, but I lost their tech line # and you can only ask those questions through e-mail now w/out it. I like speaking to a human and don't like waiting. Stinking computers. If anyone has the #, I will call and get the facts from the source.

Injen was trying to be tricky with their number from looking at the website (wholesale/dealers only). I tried calling and they are closed. I'll try again tomorrow.

i tried emailing injen and this is what i got:

"A representative will answer your question shortly. If you need an imediate answer, please feel free to contact tecnical support at (909) 839-0706."

o-tay...so i called and i get a machine. lol

well from new celica there were people that GUESSED that it was the pipe size change and masf location...again the validity of this is confused

i'm just damn curious why there were 3 gens...

I tried calling them 3 times on the technical # during the course of 3 hours and all I received for the first 2 calls were, leave a message. On the third call I spoke to a girl who said the tech. was on the phone and for me to hold when he gets off, so I did and they hung up on me soon after. I'll try again. I heard some different things about Injen's generations to know exactly what is true. I want to know first hand before I give any explanation on this.

I've got the 1st gen Injen Intake and the fitment is horrible. The pipe doen't line up to the mounting points and the filter rubs against the wheel well. Saw a friend's 2nd gen Intake and it fits a lot better. The filter is pointed upwards and away from the wheel.

well apparently, the current 3rd gen corrected most of the problems with the first two gens.

LOL...and all this time i thought the redesigns were to resolve the bogging problems and hp robbing down low...this is that i got from injen after posing the question:

> Dear sir,
>
> The changes made to the Celica GTS cold air Intake (part# RD2046) are
mainly
> cosmetic. With manufacturing techniques changing we are able to produce a
> better fitting and an easily installed product. Horsepower gains are
still
> the same through each revision. To guarantee that you have the correct
item
> when purchasing, please buy from an authorized Injen retailer which can be
> found on www.injen.com. [injen.com.]
