Im thinking about getting the turbo that they have in newcelica.org can you guyz tell me what mods i need to have for the turbo. like the electronics and anything i need to replace for it to work. THANKS! rice

If the kit at NewCelica.org is XS it will come with plumbing and everything. You should look into an upgraded clutch(to handle more power), and a LSD(limited slip differential). If you install it yourself do a lot of research.

just keep the pressure around 7 psi, any higher is not safe unless you have work done to your engine(camshafts, pistons, etc..)

If you get a turbo, you should invest in new clutch, or at least save up quick for a new clutch. Plus you might as well get a flywheel and LSD if you are getting a clutch. You would be getting the DD turbo right? That comes with everything you need I believe. thumbsup

Actually that guy is an authorized APR dealer that has really good prices on their stuff. That kit will ship to you directly from APR. It's the real deal. thumbsup

if i didnt replace or get new camshafts,pistons,etc., what parts would i need and where can i find them? dont i need controls or gauges to control the turbo,if so tell what i need and where i can find those? THANKS for all your help!

Alright. First thing you need to do is find out what is coming with the kit. Not all kits are the same. Then go from there. I would get a bopost controller. it is not needed, but you would be able to adjust the boost instantly just sittting in the driver seat. You would not need camshafts. If anything, you would need pisotns and rods. Our rods are a little weak which is why you cannot boost real high. Pistons would be to lower the compression. 7 psi with the DD turbo is for daily driving. If you go to the track, you can give it a little more. Not much and not often. You need to talk with who you are buying from because they should have all this info. Not us. You still haven't even stated what kit you are going with.

im going to buy the DD turbo and it comes with the following
-Audi TT turbo and recirculation valve
-Manifold & Downpipe (both of which bolt directly on; no cutting)
-Fuel Injectors
-Piggyback ECM, with plugs to connect to the factory ECU (no cutting and splicing)
-Toyota oil pan, modified with return line fitting
-Spearco intercooler
-Polished aluminum piping
-New air filter
-All necessary hoses and fittings. They are all pre-fabbed, so no cutting is required to install the kit. i have emailed the guy who sells them and he hasent emailed me back yet. im researching on things i would need for this turbo and to make it work.

you definately need bigger injectors...i think iread in the nc forum that stock injectors cant put enough fuel out at something like 5000rmp. You can deffinately run it w/ stock injectors but if you want the most out of the turbo yuo should get bigger ones.

His kit will come with injectors.
Listen...NC.org will know more about this. It is probably covered in that 20 page thread they have. If they do not cover the info you need, then contact Draper himself. He is a really good guy and will help you with all of your questions. This is not my field of expertise. I remember mentioning something about a boost gauge or something. I don't know exactly what, but it is to make sure the pressure is down before you shut the car off, otherwise you will have to sit there for a minute before turning your car off to let out the pressure.
