ok, so i'm just so peculiar that i've only taken 11 weeks to get it this far. but trust me, it's coming out great thumbsup the color is just awesome in person. got all the dings out of the car and shaved the antenna and rear wiper while i was at it. bought a bomex body kit, sport m hoodscoop (thanks Tater thumbsup), trd action package spoiler, ro_ja formula five 18 inch wheels, tanabe super down df210s, kyb agx struts, jdm doorsills, jdm side markers, and i'm painting my headlights to match the car and tinting all the light lenses to match the jdm sidemarkers. ohhh, btw the color is royal sapphire pearl, we're clearing it one more time to give it a really deep look to the paint and to add a little more protection to the paint itself (so i can just buff out scratches). here's some pics. thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

will do sultan, we're putting it back together now so i should be driving it by the weekend. and yes i've done everything on the car myself except the actual spraying of the paint (didn't want any runs). the rear wiper just unbolts and unplugs, after removal, you grind the sides of the decklid around the whole where the wiper was at, then carefully, push in the sides a little with a ball end of a hammer. weld a piece of sheet metal to cover the hole and body fill over the metal. then just prime and paint thumbsup.

actually in reguards to the paint shop, it was actually in my friend's body shop, we had just pulled it outside to let the first stage of clear cure out and let all the solvents escape before reclearing the car. thumbsup and the paint was already dried when it was out there so there wasn't going to be a problem with stuff getting in the paint.

yeah, you should paint and allow it to dry in a dust free area. but the time that this pic was taken, the paint was already dry, not sticky, just sitting outside to allow the reducer to come out of the paint, and the sun helps out a lot better than just letting it sit there. ohhh, and yeah i figured i'd get some people commenting on it looking like spectra blue, i need to get some pics of mine beside a spectra blue one to show the difference with the pearl in it. thumbsup

you all should see the headlights, we just got them all sealed up last night. the insides are painted to match the car and the outer lense was tinted to give it the jdm look. the only problems i've encountered so far were that the stock exhaust sits a little high for the bomex rear bumper, and trying to find all my parts to put it back together. lol, i've got to go take more pics. thumbsup

I can already see the pearl in it. Very nice choice in color. Blues always seem to look good on Celica's.
Gosh that color is nice and the pearl stands out the more you look at it.

sweet - so you painted the headlamps as well... we'll see how it looks however I would have painted the inside black and then tinted like you did. The paint match headlights look a little cheesy on the new celicas - hopefully yours turned out better

... and, after all you've done, *please* get an aftermarket exhaust asap - wink
