Google.

Pivot makes a complete kit, but you can also DIY with either a stock S2000 button or with a Pivot or Ignited engine start button.

Correct me if I am wrong, but those kits are only for the automatic transmision, right. Since if you drive manual you have to hold down the clutch. Or is there a way around it?

i have an auto start on my car... its real nice in the mornings because you can warm up your car without sitting in it...um.. and it can be installed in a manual.. my buddy has it on his ep.. you just have to always leave it in neutral, in first gear the engine will just keep crankin and jumping forward.. i got mine a while back its made by viper..im sure you've seen it.. its the one with the red, white and blue remote and i got that for 450...the newer ones out now look a lot better. my buddy with the ep is running with the cliford and i think he paid 800 something for his but he added a lot of extras..

You park in neutral for most cars. I don't know about the Celica though, turning the key without depressing the clutch doesn't do anything.

I thought you were talking about the engine start button thing, not remote start, in case my post looks out of place.

it doesnt unlock your car, the alarm is actually still on when the car is on. you cant turn the car on and drive off, you have to turn it off and then put the key in , turn and put it into drive like normal. it just sounds cool if you have a nice exauhst..just to kind of hear what your car sounds like from the outside when you tun it on

Those are very useful if you are leaving in cold areas because you can warm up your car from inside your house. Other than that, it's just one of those toys you really can't get your hand off. Oh and they don't come cheap. Last time I check it was almost $400 plus the labor. I dunno bout now.. smile

like i said virgil..forget about paying 400 plus labor..i got hookups in the san bernardino area that can have your remote start, alarm w/ screen to tell you if anyone is messing w/ your car, paging (stupid invention), valet alarm, and all kinds o stuff that is really not needed for like 250 to 300 bucks..if your going to be buying other stuff obviously you will get a better deal. thumbsup just let me know virgil..i cant really roll down w/ just anyone and get those prices for everyone, but im sure it can be done for at least you and a couple other ppl.

If you have a manual, you have to install a clutch override, which is included in shop install costs. i have the viper 791 xv that has the capability to have remote start, but i did not intsall it.

Imagine one day you *accidentally* leave it in first gear...it just slipps your brain...and then you go to crank it up by the remote and it goes out and hits another car. It is not worth it to me, and i have personally heard several horror stories regarding ppl hitting it in their pocket, body shops forgetting, etc...

I would advise against it, plus it kills your battery and your wallet thumbsup

You can override the clutch by looking for a little connector at the base of the clutch pedal. It should be two wire connector.. unplug it, just stick a wire into it and loop it so that other end of the wire goes into the other entrance.

beauty of the remote start is... is that you can turn it on, get your engine warmed up. It will automatically turn off when your engine hits the operating temperature. I think it's especially useful when you live at a place where it's cold.

anywayz... I did leave the car in reverse once and tried to start the engine up...It stalled but remote start kept on trying to turn on the engine until engine started up...car moved like 2 feet until I noticed...felt sorry for my car..but oh wellz.
