when installing my pulley my idiot friend had the positive terminal touching my strut bar when still on the battery

not only did it fry my bat (smoke was coming out from the bat) but i fried my radio (smoke also was comeing up from there)

when i turn on the radio the display comes on like if it's trying to play the cd but no sound from the speakers no matter how loud i turn it on

does anyone know how i can fix this?

I just took my stock radio apart and did the LED swap, so I only know about that.

First, check your fuses, and replace any blown ones. You should have blown a few.

Then, troubleshoot from there.

You may have melted a wiring harness/wires, or the board inside of the CD player may have blown something.

If so, then it shouldn't be too hard to replace. Problem is locating it though.

Check the wire harness that plugs directly into the back of the stereo. And you have the stock stereo system, right?

Look for any burn marks, or melted wires.

Burn marks on the harness would be a good clue. Other than that, you will need to test the wires with a continuity tester to make sure that voltage is passing through them.

Hold on a minute, and I will dig up a diagnostics page on the wire harness if I can find it...
