First, I have a stock exhaust on my 2001 Celica GT. Anyways, usually when i take off in first gear and crank it to 6,800 rpm, I notice a considerable amount of black smoke coming out the exhaust. Is this normal? If not, why is black smoke coming out the exhaust? I change my oil every 2,000 miles

its carbon... all engines have it... its normal... if you go on a long drive... like 4+ hours continuous, then it will get rid of all the carbon build up...

I've never had this problem before. If it's a considerable amount, then I doubt that it's normal.

I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

By considerable I mean "just" noticable. I'm guessing it's normal like you guys said. I don't burn oil, I change it every 2k miles. Anyways, thanks guys
