EVERY TIME I DOWN SHIFT FROM 5TH TO 4TH MY 4TH GEAR GRINDS FOR HALF A SECOND THEN CATCHES WHAT COULD THIS BE AND HOW DO I FIX IT? IT DOESN'T GRIND FROM 3RD TO 4TH. ALSO I TOOK MY CAR IN TO GET SOME BODY WORK DONE AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK WHEN EVER I STOP ON THE BRAKES IT BEEPS LIKE IM IN REVERSE. IF YOU CAN PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIX THESE THINGS. THANKS.

Synchros are shot. Don't downshift, and match your RPM's if you do.

yup, it's your synchros. My was grind from 4th to 3rd and 2nd. Got it fixed under powertrain warranty, but the actually cost is over $1000. Go get it fix if you're still under warranty and good luck if you don't grin

If you have lots and lots of time do it yourself, just print out the 150 pages from the toyota repair manual on ecelica, not sure how much for parts though thumbsdown

Any body have a clue about the beeping

Not really sure what the beeping problem is. But if it's the same beep as the beep when you are in reverse...and you don't necessarily feel like fixing it...as much as getting rid of it...you could try the install section and find the 'reverse beep uninstall'...and do that for now... confused Good luck!

dont grind your gears, if you sync them wrong and chip part of a tooth on any gear off,it fucks everything up. I needed a 3500$ repair on my last car after thinking a couple grinds wont hurt it.

hope you still have waranty, because i had that problem and i just got a new trani put in, because they were so fucked up. good luck and just take it to them and see wat they say
