pros: they can ride and lower the car at any time.
cons: when air bags rip and they will rip its a pain in a half and costly to repair.

i had a few friends with air bagged rides and it was cool and everything but when it breaks damn its a pain in the ass to get it to work again.

get cans, better wear and tear. but air ride is tricky. compressors, valves, tanks, etc... my friend brandon and i put a bag setup on his 62 buick special. and that thing dumps out and drags, if i ever got air on my celi, it'd be cans, with a front back setup just to pancake at shows. but it all depends on what direction you want to take your car.

I've heard air ride kills your handling, not sure about that though.

air rides aren't good for handling, because even though they lower your center, they aren't stiff enough to provide response time and such.

Air ride will not help you turn better. Get good quality coilovers (Tein or Tanabe) and then set them for a height that won't cause problems, but is still low enough for your tastes.

yea, get coilovers. Air ride is for trucks and more for show cars. The ride is terrible.

thanks celica guy definately let me know i do wanna show my car but i am more worried about getting down the drag strip so hopefully being lower on the drag strip will help at least if it wont help with turns thats not that big of a deal unless its worse than stock handling-i dont think i can even use coil overs becasue i have no suspension done now and i barely clear a lot of thing if your from pa you know what i'm sayin-thanks for everyones input

i dont think air rides make you handle any better than stock, if not worse. I heard some really shitty rides with bag, but i never rode in one so i dunno.

air ride can be a little bouncy at times, at least in a heavy ass car like my friend brandon's buick, i'm not sure how it would ride in a light-ass import though.

Well if you think about it, there's nothing to stiffen the ride. It definately won't handle better than stock, prolly the same or worse to be honest.

That's why it all depends on the direction he wants to go with his car. However he said he's looking for some handling, in which case air is NOT the way to go.

even in the 1/4 mile you are still adding a lot of weight which will equal slower times. For ANY type of performance coilovers cant be beat. They are lighter, give better cornering, stiffer, and most can even be adjusted (though not as easy as airbags).

If you have the money get the electronic coilovers from tein.I checked on them and youll fork out about i think its like around 1700 for the coilovers and the motors and everything.Im sure it would be slow as all hell adjusting coilovers from the inside but that is a way to get coilover handling with the adjustibility.Just something to think about although i dont know how much it would be like air as far as adjusting.Something worth checking into though

you say that you want it for the strip but having bags is going to put a hell of a lot more weight in your car do to the bags, compressor and tank. Bags are a wast of money IMO.
MORE WEIGHT = Slower times

Go to tein's website and just look around..you can get coilovers that are compatible for it..It is called EDFC.But its worth a look check it out.The only reason i didnt do it was because you can buy bags for what the electronic coilovers cost
