I've been completing my interior recently and wanted something a little different done... I next began browsing various sites and came across this unit from Defi:

... it matches my interior blue lighting theme but I'm still undecided. Good points for this heads-up display include solderless attachment to the ECU and the ability to keep your eyes on the road @ high speeds while still being able to see if you've passed your previous high speed record - tongue

Anyway, what are your opinions?

I think it looks nice! thumbsup What other kind of info does it display? Are you thinking about adding any other Defi gauges? They have a nice look to them.

This is off-topic, but where did you buy your corner lights from? I've been looking everywhere for those but can't find any store online.

I think it would look nice if you could hide the unit some how. I mean I just wouldn't like that box visible. It would be nice and clean if you could flush mount it in the dash. thumbsup

these are the things which can be displayed -

*Speed(digital display)

*Engine speed(bar, digital display)

*Oil pressure(bar, digital display)

*Oil temperature(digital display)

*Water temperature(digital display)

*Fuel pressure(bar, digital display)

*Exhaust temperature(digital display)

*Warning function(LED, digital display)

*Replay function

*Record function

I'd need to buy the Control Unit and sensors for each as well if I wanted anything shown other than speed and RPM's... I'm thinking of just replacing my Autometer gauges with Defi ones to avoid buying new sensors. Here's a pic of the setup:

the digital read-out displays are redundant imo so I'd just be purchasing the control unit, gauges, and display unit...

it would be sweet, if and only if, you could cut out part of the dash board, above the speedo and mold the display inside of there. To see somthing like that on such a clean flowing car would make it stand out and probably look ugly and tacky. . .

get it molded in somewhere and it would def. be a sweet idea.

... oh yeah, another plus - if you've swapped out your gauges for aftermarket and removed your needles for any reason, you know that getting them re-calibrated is not so easy. This would be perfect for those that have this problem (I've tried resetting mine multiple times but I'm consistently 8-10 mph fast on the gauge

^^ i have the same problem. i can get my cars speedo to go 140+ on totally flat ground and no backwinds...i don't know exactly how much it's off but i do know my cars not really capable of reaching that speed in actuality...i might be going 125-130 mph.

If it could be molded into the dash, it would be cool. But sitting on top. thumbsdown
