Walmart to do your oil filter change? Its 50% cheaper than if you want toyota dealer to do it for you.

No way in hell, not if they did it free. Don't do it, nor Sears or anything like that. They don't give a rats ass about your car. I had a friend that took a 00 S2000 in and they broke his oil pan bolt, stripped it in the oil pan. thumbsdown

Cost him big to get it fixed and Wal-Mart won't pay for it, he filed a complaint and they offered him 5 free oil changes.

Yeah like that would do it for me, all I can say if anyone messes my car up I'm bitch slapping then for sure, just to start, then I'm going off on them. slap

I bet you anything that if you go to Walmart for an oil change, your plastics underneath your car will not be placed back correctly.

Oilchange is easy enough to do yourself mate, just get yourself a washing up bowl or two to catch the oil under the car and you're away! thumbsup

Toyota isn't even a safe place to have your oil changes done. In one shot, they overfilled my engine, gave me the wrong oil filter, and forgot the drain plug gasket, so I had a small oil leak the day after. thumbsdown I did my own oil changes from then on. smile

I agree, better to change the oil yourself...

might not have a choice but to do it yourself if your car is lowered with a body kit cool

I go there, only because I know a guy who works there and make sure they use mobil 1 synthetic. I always watch them to. I never had a problem yet. thumbsup

i got one oil change there... never again, i got a tire rotation too, they rotated them, but never did the check, then i got a flat and my dad was pissed... now we either do the changes at home, or take them to ford...

lol ya ford is more reliable then toyota for us... in service atleast...

I got a question though, is it true that the celica has some problem with the oil check light?? apparently last time i had my oil changed they said the oil was low, but i never had a check light come on... should i just upgrade to an oil gauge??

just get yourself some Rhino Ramps or any car ramps which make oil changes a breeze. its better then jacking your car up. thumbsup

If its a SuperTech filter than they work great. I use either those or the Tuffguards. The efficiency is the same but the price isnt.

if i were u, then i would take it to walmart. they are a huge company, ask them wut oil they are gonna put in the car. they are probably gonna put the same oil independent shops will. inexperience is found everywhwere, not just walmart. dont you think toyota dealership mechanics do some dumb shits like that too?
if you really want it to be done perfectly like you want it, then you gotta do it urself. if walmart guy is not gonna give a rat ass about ur car, neither toyota dealership guy will

changing the oil yourself yields two results. one, you are absolutely certain you have the highest quality synthetic oil in your engine. two, even with the most costly brand of oil, it is still cheaper.

just don't drop your car on your head when loosening the drain valve...

Your oil check light will only come on when your oil pressure falls below a certain level. Low oil will rarely trigger it.
