Hey I been thinking about this for awhile now. Do you guys think the Celica will ever the legacy of the Supra? Obviously the Supra MKIV is a "legend", some say its the best car Toyota ever made. We all know that there wont be Celicas no more after 2005. So will the Celica ever reach that status in lets say 5 years from now?

I think in 5 years people will start to ask "Whoa, what kinda car is that?" in a positive way. Not the attention a supra gets though...But i think people will have an appreciation for them since they will be rare, at least import enthusiasts, especially at carshows and such.

Talking about rarity, anyone know how many 7th gen Celica GT and GTS have been imported to the US?

OK, after some research, I highly doubt you can call 7th "rare" wink
For 2000 alone. Toyota sold 52,406 Celicas in the US.

I do think they will be an admired car in 5-10 years. Not along the same lines as the Supra though. I picture it more like the 3000GT, this older car that still makes people go "wow... that design would still be a cool production car today".

I think any model that stops production for good like the Celica has done for 2005 will have a certain status.

I think it will not be very wanted in the future. New cars will take what is good about the Celica and improve on it. I think the Celica is perfect. I even like it when the people say "man, that's a chick car" or "Those cars look good, but they are slow as hell".
To the chick car comment I say "Good thing about having a chick is, chicks like it and that's more important than a dumbass like you liking it".
To the slow car comment, I say "Let's race" than I spank their ass and make them look bad in front of all their friends because they just got their ass spanked by a slow chick car.
