Started snowing like hell and I thought about putting on my stock tires but didn't bother since I didn't think the snow would last. Went up to see my wife at her school. We left and were going to go out for dinner. She went one way to the restaurant and I went the other. Coming down a big hill, I was crawling since the snow was bad and it was icy. Like literally CRAWLING.

My Kumho712's might stick to pavement like glue but ice is a different story. I hit the brakes gently and started sliding. The hill was steeper & stepeer so I started picking up speed (while sliding)

Picture this hill. 2 lanes 1 lane of traffic in either direction. A paved walking trail right beside the road, with a small probably 5" X 5" X 5" curb or median following the road separating the road from the path, on the uphill direction side.

I slide and as I do I try to steer for the ditch on my side but it ends up sliding diagonally and spinning so I was up hill.

Bang the front passenger tire jumped the curb (I'm facing uphill by this point) while my rear tire swings around and hits the curb but doesn't jump it.

I held the wheel really lightly as I was about to impact because another time when this happened to a buddy & I it spun unbelievebly fast when it hit. The steering wheel didn't really spin now that I think about it and I was fine.

I had visions of a trashed TRD bumper & sideskirt plus 2 fcuked rims & tires. Front bumper is fine, Sideskirts were amazingly fine, front rim seems fine, no curb rash but there is a good 6" scrape on the rear rim. No problem I'll just buy another one to replace it. The tire seems fine on it though.

I'm sure I"m going to need an alignment and now I have to get my winter beater (with 3 slow leaking flats) up & running tonight. I'll post a couple pics later, I think our digital camera is at my wife's school, but there's not much to see except for the one rim.

Damn. frown Oh well I'm fine, the car really is fine so I'm not too worried about it. No point claiming on insurance since the deductable will be more than the rim.

Dude...i know exactly how you feel. I saw the snow coming yesterday and I tucked away the Celi in exchange for my old Dodge Neon. There's only about 3 inches here now...hopefully no more. frown

Yah, been there; it was either the curb or hit a car. Don't forget to get an alignment while your at it.

Hehe pics to follow. Of the damage and my pimpin 88 4WD camry beater. Complete with Kazuma exhaust. (Well acutally the old exhaust has rusted right through so it's not getting to the muffler. LOL sounds like a rally car!) I was more worried about another car sliding into me as they crawled past and then tried to turn around. That would have just been some icing on the cake grin
