click here [ tirerack.com] for some basic info about them As far as I know, you have to have this special monitoring system to alert you to when you have lost tire pressure (so you know when to fix them) I'm sure that can be a little spendy

Yes getting a run flat system will be quite expensive, also you need that tire pressure monitor as well so you know waht your tire pressures are. The tires themselves are pricey but you don't ever have to worry about changing a tire, plus you can get rid of your spare.

what would good estimate be for a set of runflats and the monitoring shit
will the monitoring stuff like cool in my car? or is ti gonna look like a back to the future car
