hey i need some intake couplings. home depot doesnt sell them that big. I think i need a 2.5" one. Where did you guys get yours. I know it comes with one...but i need 2 more! im doing the bluebomber mod. I dont want to mess with the expoxy. The only stock part im using is the MAF holder, other than that, the rest of the piping is aluminum if thats what AEM uses.

Home depot DOES sell them that big, some even up to 5"... Go back and check the plumbing asile (by all the PVC pipe) you will find every possible coupling you would need.

some Auto parts stores will sell them too.

ahh i forgot bluebombers mod link. someone post it up lol. I think its a smart way to increase HP compareable to AEM and injen but without the bogging. I guess the mod im doing is very similar to TPR, but im using stock MAF housing, which i think the velocity of air will flow thru fast than TPR since they use bigger tubing. I guess that means more accurate readings. is it better? i dunno

The TPR intakes are based off the stock airbox mod I created, so they're also 2.5" piping with the same fins. TPR is most definitely the most optimized intake out there. Along with the MAFS fins, it has about 7" of straight piping before the MAFS (the most of any intake by far), which creates laminar (straight) air flow. This gives the MAFS the most accurate readings possible, even better than the stock airbox which uses a venturi before the MAFS. You can do my mod to any aftermarket intake, but it still won't match up to TPR's CAI because of this.

i see i can cut the Gen one to obtain two pieces and will bend similar to TPR...im guessing this is where they get their bends from. As for the MAF, i dont think i can do the welding of the fins...so gotta use stock. and i cant find these couplers anywhere!

Nah, TPR is a 100% new design. At best, it could be considered similar in shape to Injen (since AEM has 3 bends vs Injen and TPR's 2), but it's still vastly different. The main reason for it being two pieces was to be able to access the spot to weld the fins inside the piping. Using it as an SRI is just a bonus. smile

Yup, that's the right price for the couplers. They can get much more expensive than that, especially if they're fiberglass reinforced.
