Hey everyone, I looked in installes and didnt see it so i was wondering if anyone coudl tell me aobut installing a air/fuel gauge. is it somehting i coudl do myself or have a shop do?. also if anyone has pics of how i ahve to hook it to the engine or anyhting. Thanks everyone for all of oyur help.

found a previous post that shows a tech drawing of install but does anyone have real pics. Alos i hear that a air,fuel will mess up the ecu on 03+ gt models?? odes anyone know about this. will it mess up my gts also??

A/F gauges are useless on our cars, unless they're the $400 wideband O2 sensor type.

not true, blue. they are useful for diagnosing problems with the fuel system, it just basically takes the signal output of the o2 sensor and converts it into a bar graph. You can tell if you're leaning out, or running rich, and you can also tell if your o2 sensor is taking a dump on you, but if you want an actual number value for your A/F ratio for tuning purposes, then. yes, wideband tis the only way to go.

no gauge is useless.

so anyone have pcis of an install of them. Someone said i can jsut tap into a wire that is in the car (not having ot go through firewall into engine) is this true,a nd if so which one?>?

I know what you mean, on the passenger side of the dash, going up along side the cetner console inside the footwell is a wire, i think its green or something, thats the cable you need to tap! I forgot exactly which one it is, let me see if i can find the right info for ya!!

alright, heres what i got, the old wire in the pic, is the wire they used to use for installing the air/fuel gauge, but voodoo said that using the new wire is more accurate, so its best to install the air/fuel gauge wire to that one, the new one!! thats the one that he said to tap into. If installed correctly, clean the maf, reset the ecu, there should be no probelms with the idling, that some people have, but then again, i dont think that everyone will have a prob with the idiling, ive heard about a lot of propblems putting air/fuel gagues into the 03+ models, but, if you think about something, how many people have sri's or cai's, and get cels, and always complaining about cel's, yet, ive never had one, so its a miss and go situation, but thats how you install it!!

How can you tell on the gauge if if your 02 sensor is bad or not or going bad.

Running a crappy AFR gauge off of the crappy OEM narrowband O2 sensor will give you nothing more than an expensive light show.

The stock water temperature gauge is useless.

/\/\ so true, that thing jumps around non stop, I dissconected mine, it got annoying and distracting rolleyes

it jumps because thats what your engine is constantly doing. Your ecu adjusts the a/f ratio thousands of times per minute, this means your gauge is working it it jumps all the time. If you add fuel in,i.e. press gas pedal it will go rich, take foot off the pedal and it goes lean. If crusing on cruise control it will stay stoich. at idle it varys through all three settings.

on mine though when I press the gas nothing shows up on the gauge blank??? it only reads when I am on cruise control or holding the gas pedal steady
