ok...this is not for my celica...it is still in good shape and runs awesome...so no worries from my friends on here

My girlfriend has a 1993 ford escort...over the summer she lost a valve, and had her engine rebuilt...she had put 163,000 miles on it and never had a timing belt change!!!! Before the rebuild it stalled when she came to a stop, and sometimes on hills. After the rebuild the car ran fine...however...up hills I feel like I should get out and push the damn thing, and recently it stalled on startup, and when she came to a stop. WHat the Hell!!! She just had the DAMN THING rebuilt!!! I'm thinking that since she had new internals, a completely new head and parts, and a her fueling system checked out...the only thing left could be a screwy ignition timing system...maybe new plugs (not sure that they changed them when they rebuilt), or distributor cap...help me figure this one out guys...Th only thing I could think of otherwise would be to have a compression test done (don't really know anything about them or price), and see if they did a rebuild the way that they were supposed to...help me out...

This is an easy one. Even I know the answer. The problem is that it is a Ford Escort. Kidding. You know I don't know shit. Sorry I can't help.

i had this happen to me on one of my older cars. ended up that the gaskets where pretty much not doing there job cuasing the car to accelerate like crap and sputter at stop signs. changed it out and ran like a champ.

I'm going to play with th ignition system today...and yeah I know its a ford engine and tha I would get a few of those coments, but think about the fact that she has been in medical school for the past 5 years, and is finishing up this fall...no car payments ar a nice thing when you are goin thru medcal school. I'm not thinking its the gaskets because she just had it rebuilt (I hope not anyway...it doesn't overheat either) I think that they didn't change her spark plugs when they rebuilt it...I'm gonna change them out and go from there...that and I'm not sure she has EVER chnged out her 02 sensors...help me figure this out

Well, sensors could easily have something to do with it.

ok...Tehy didn't change the plugs when they re-built the damn thing!!!!...and the throttle cable had a lot of slack in it...I could floor it, and it would get just below 3/4 of the way open!!!! Fixed it all...to anyone who gets a rebuild...please watch for things like this...when I had my higher comp. internals put in, everything worked great for me
