hey guys i just added a yellow filter into my foglight housing, so it give a yellow effect, like the IS 300, Hard as hell to do but my bro did all the work thumbsup. so heres the pic, sorry the color of the actual foglight is off but the reflection on the floor is more accurate. You have to see it in person, the pic doesn't so it justice. My Headlights are HID's so it kind of messes up the camera What do you guys think? thumbsup or thumbsdown

You can't have HID high beams. Nature of the design. Best you could do is use some of those cheaper HID-look halogens for the high beams, but it isn't worth the money for something you hardly use anyway.

nice mod, Kimbo. thumbsup Definitely better than spending an arm and leg on one of those ion-yellow fog sets.

Rice means true HID, unless you did a full convert thats not what you have. MTECs, PIAAs, Silver Stars, and so on are all look-a-likes.

Kim...those look sweet thumbsup How much did they cost and where'd you get them?
I never really looked into filters...I did just search google for yellow light filter and amber light filter for fogs and found plenty of info why amber/yellow are best but nothing about buying them...
I paid $44.20 for my Piaa amber ion shipped eek but they are sweet just when they burn out maybe I can get something equally good but for less..Thanks for the info in advance thumbsup

it didn't really cost anything, i'm not sure exactly how my brother did it but i know that he got some kind of yellow glass tube that goes around an H3 bulb off of another car then opened my fogs and placed them in. it's cool, but i think visibility went down.

I have PIA ION YELLOWS installed... isnt that basically the same effect that you set to acomplish?

PIA ION YELLOW - about $35 each single bulb ($60 for the set of two)

Hey Isaac,

Have you looked at my second picture? Are they the same effect? Cause if they are, your way is a more easier way to do it. The reason I did this is cause my bro did it for me and I never have to buy Ion bulbs if they blow out. Thanks

I saw the second pic...WOW...I can tell no difference...and the HID geez I am still seeing spots.. rofl If ya get any more info on how to obtain those covers just let me know...please...money is money and I got plenty of brightwhite & stock bulbs in my tool box..hehehee...never use them because yellow does help on dark country roads and looks cool Thanks grin

I went to MacCar [maccar.com] to get my Piaa 13555 Amber Ion Crystal bulbs they were like $21 and some change for 1 and the guy I spoke with was cool when I ordered 2.
