If I were you, I'd take the exhaust to a shop and get the seam on the top of the muffler welded shut. It's only spot welded, and known to blow open due to rust (just like their Celica TRD exhaust). Sealing the seam will prevent water from entering.

Conditions such as exposure to salt water or snow.

I know of at least one person who has been through 2 TRD exhausts (made by HKS) because of this problem, and a lot of people who have had it happen to them once. It looks like it could just be bad build quality, because even people in CA have had it happen, and there's no salt on the roads there from snow.

Haha, Invidia is LOUD indeed... wel it is until you put on a turbo, than it sounds almost stock, but the droning is still there..

I'm guessing TPR has this problem fixed?

You'll probably see a cracked or broken weld, or excess rust around that area. Better off just getting it welded up before it happens, becuase after it blows, it might not be repairable.

TPR won't have this problem, and no exhausts besides HKS or TRD have it, either. It's just a crappy muffler design from HKS that's prone to failing. TPR's mufflers aren't from HKS, so there will be no problems with it. wink
