All under body lights are illegal. Does not matter what color you get you will get busted for them.

does not matter what lights are under the car, under body lights are illegal. Neons, black light, the lamp on your desk.

black lights (although cool to trip out with in a rave tongue) wouldn't have the range to be very visible on the open road. you are dealing with multiple spectrums of light when you're outdoors and they would interfere with proper black light (or "wood's light") representation. also, without phosphors (in teeth, nails, laundry detergent, etc) you won't be able to see the glow.

I'm trying to tell you there is no color you can use that is legal. If you use under body neon you do so at your own risk. Do a google search for the DOT laws on under body neon you'll see what I mean.

Spencer,

The only thing I could find is that its illegal to drive with neons on, knew that. Like I was telling you, get what ever color you want just watch out driving with them on. You can't get a ticket for owning them, just for driving with them on. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Black lights would look really cool since it lights up the white lane markers as you drive around at night.

Under body neons are oly illegal if you can see the actual neon tube. If you istall them good enough to where you can't see the actual tube unless your under the car itself, underbody neons are legal

I personally haven't seen any white neons or blacklights long enough to go under the body, in my personal opinion, I think you should go w/ red, red looks good w/ white. Plus it's easier to go go w/ a red color scheme on the inside (i.e. gauge cluster can be turned red along w/ backlight for A/C controls) but thats just my opinion. Good Luck

Well as far a a uniform looking color scheme (inside and out) red and blue are probably the easiest to do. I got a Silver Celica and I'm goin w/ the blue scheme. As far as the red light being legal, I would make sure they are hooked to a cut-off switch so then if you do get pulled over (which I doubt you would) just tell the police officer that you couldn't find a current copy of the road ordinances and that the guy you bought the lights from and people online said it was legal. Then just turn them off. Most police in the day and age don't really care about that kind of stuff but they will watch you more closly so watch that speed. smile

I think that white neons would look awesome or some other color that will go with your color scheme...like red or blue.

definitely blue and red are illegal. they're to be used only by po-po's, ambulances and firetrucks. underbody lights are only illegal while used on the streets, ie drivin around like in fast and the furious. they're for show-purposes.
