How are the custom catbacks?
Is it better than the catbacks you buy on websites? Like Magnaflow and etc.
It seems much cheaper to just do it custom.
This guys says it's $140 for Catback piping and $100 for the muffler. Compared to the $400-500 catback systems on the web.

Any advice would be great!
Thanks!

All depends on how they
bend the pipes.

Since I travel a lot I don't want it to be too loud on the highway and don't want to get headaches.
I heard the place I was do it is really good.
And about the decible levels. it has a silencer on the muffler so should that be legal?

So it has to be mandril bent. So it is worth it to get a custom catback.
So then why do so many people get their full catback online?

And also will it be too loud?

Wow! so the only real catback would be getting it done custom? I didn't know that
Thanks!

Still want to know if it's too loud and why do people buy exhaust if it's not a real catback?

all the celica exhausts are axle back..if you look at how the exhaust is set up...you have the rear portion from the axle back...then from there it goes through a pipe to a cat which is one whole unit...if you were to get catback, you would have to cut and weld because there is no bolt off location right after the cat or right before it...
so the best is to cut right before the cat and have a pipe from the axle back to the end of the catpipe...then you could swap in and out.

Does it take a lot more gas than a axle back and stock?
If the difference is night and day I might rethink this one.
Ride comfort on highway is important too for me

you're eliminating the cat, doesnt effect gas
cat just restricts flow and keeps the bad exhaust gases from comin out..
getting rid of it makes the flow much better and is always a good thing.
ride comfort would be the same, it would have a better sound to it.

What do you mean drones?

And this muffler I'm gonna buy comes with silencers will that help?

dont buy a univeral muffler
buy an axle back exhaust to bolt onto the piping they are making.
droning meaning a constant noise that is annoying.
if you can't take all the noise, then why do what you are trying to do?

I heard that the TRD isn't too bad on the highway. That's why I'm asking.

Why is getting universal muffler bad?

Shit if I get the axle back then I have to spend more money... I was trying to choose between axle back or custom catback and you are saying do both... damn...

a universal muffler just looks retarded unless you get something nice...what i always think of is coffee can things on a celica...
otherwise, get a nice tip and the custom piping and itll pro be the same, minus a resonator unless the tip has that..

What does a resonator do?
And why take it off?
I'm such a nooby... sorry for asking so many questions...

resonates...sound deadener in other words...most exhausts have it anyway...if you didn't, it would sound like a truck or something.
but most tips have it

when you get a custom exhaust on a 4 cylender you're taking a gamble... 95% of the time it will sound like ass...

you know all those civics that sound like shit?... yep... custom exhaust rofl

a turbocharger will act as a resonator therefore just about any piping will sound good on a turbo car.

Do you mean just the exhaust/muffler? the taking off resonator? or the whole custom catback thing?

Well I asked the guy that sells the muffler how the sound is and he asked me what kind of car i had. I said Celica GT and he said it's deep and good.
Was he trying to sell the muffler? or was he being helpful... He wasn't the owner of the shop. He was just an employer.

But those civics sound awful. I don't want it to sound like that.

What should i do!

So you just got the N1 muffler instead of the whole N1 catback set?
I think I'll go with that. The muffler only doesn't cost so much right?
Where can I find one?

The one I looked at the shop was RS Racing mufflers.
Do you know how these are?
He said it sounds good in celica.

I just want to get the catback done this week.
I'm rushing a little bit.

So its not loud on the highway and doesn't give headaches.
Thats great! Even on long trips?

So you have a custom catback with N1 Muffler?
That's awesome.
I'm thinking of getting that muffler in the shop i went to.
Aerospeed/RS Racing muffler... I would if anyone has this.
I'm sure someone here in bradenton/sarasota has it since they said a lot of them are done with this here.
