it sounds nice on my celica gts, but is a lil bit on the quiet side. i thought about removing the muffler ( the canister between the back tires) and see if it would make it a too load or just right. i also thought about just getting a dc header and seeing if it would change the sound to make it deeper and louder. can some one give me some advice as to what to do. if you got the hks exhaust or not i just need some advice.

the thing on the back is a resonator i believe. take that off and it will get buzzy and annnoying. header would probobally give it more of the sound your aiming for

thank you, a header looks like it my next mod. one question. why did they make the resonator so big? i look at every other car and they just have a tube looking resonator. i notice that we have one also. so we have 2 confused

I have the HKS Hyper exhaust and yes it's a bi quite but that why I got it.
It does come with the muffler attached. Trog2233 had the same exhaust but, he took off the muffler and it changed the sound a lot. PM him for details.

Hel told me that his wa starting to rust but, mine has been on the car for two years with no problems. I guess it depends on where you live.

I would guess just look at the whole axle back and see if there is any.

But like I siad before I've had mine for 2 years though rain and snow and all kinds of other crap and I have no rust on it. I've never put my car in a garage either it's an outisde car.

The thing on the back is the muffler i think, the resonator is further back, you need the muffler

My last quote was in response to the second reply...anyway, i have a 3 inch exhaust tip which is a little quiet, is there anyway of making it any louder without getting full piping?

The tip won't change the sound, you'll have to either remove the muffler (it's the big one before the tip/cannister) or the resonator which is the one approximately in the middle of the car (a long tube like thingy). I removed the resonator and I have an HKS, be prepared it gets a lot louder without it. Not loud enough to get pulled over, but you'll know a huge difference. Also, be prepared, the car will backfire more often.

if you knew it was going to be the way it is. would you remove the resonator again? does it even sound good without it? like a deep tone or does it sound raspy?

I like it without it still, no matter what, it's too quiet with the resonator in there. It sounds real good, I like it, it's not raspy either just backfires every now and then. I find it backfires a bit during cold weathers and if your accelerating hard. It's up to you...
