You know I am not sure how they got in. Maybe a slim jim because the windows are fine. I know it was locked when I went in because I check.

you need to look at it thru a point scale.

ametures will only steal if there is no car alarm or that "club" thing

experienced guys can get thru the club and a simple car alarm no problem

pros ... if they want it they can take it.

for the celicas i hate to say it but its really easy to break in kill the alarm rig the switch and drive off. from experience the club will slow someone down for about 2 minutes if they know how to get thru it. (bad design) the alarm if its the stock ones or anything thats simple it can be disabled quickly. i hate to say it but if someone wants it they wil take it. as bad as that may sounds its the awful truth. at least your insurance company will take care of it.

if you mean pop the hood and cut the line in some cases that wouldnt work. my car has a sensor under the hood that will activate it

so you're saying a pro won't have any trouble getting through a Failsafe starter kill that prevents hot-wiring? maybe if they push the car? or load it onto a flatbed? if then, that's what pager alarms are for so you know right away the alarm has been triggered and take action to eliminate the threat.

now that i think about it... i thought that stock alarms come with a kill switch that prevents the engine from starting when the alarm goes off... or...

i' am i totally missing something here...??? no matter... i still like my gun better.

Well for $100, you're getting brand-new stuff. rofl

It does suck though. I had someone break into my parents car when I drove it once... thankfully, nobody has ever broken into the Celi.

Alarms with kill switches help prevent theft of the actual car... but alarms don't do much in terms of stealing stereo stuff. Pop the hood and d/c the battery... no more alarm.

Your best bet is a low deductible incase something does happen... which you have. thumbsup

^^ then you might be a good candidate for the flamethrower alarm. Considering how many times I set off my alarm, I know I wouldn't. rofl

Does anyone have any suggestions of good aftermarket alarms?

Also I don't have power locks. Will an alarm still work?
