Whats the difference between a CAI n' a short ram? What gives out more power? What would you prefer? idunno

CAI = more power over SRI but you risk hydrolocking from rain(water getting in the intake)

SRI less power but no water worries. smile

SRI is louder than Cai. It bogs more than CAI and makes a little less hp than cai.

Cai does the rest, but it has chance of hydrolocking.. and install you gotta go underneath the car and so forth

i like the look for SRI better. but if you want pwoer go with cai. wont be to much differnt but if you race coudl be a big difference. I live in florida where it rains allot so i went with a RMM short ram with heat shield (check profile). The SRI sounds awsome, esp when in lift. i had my hood open and my friends looking in. revved it and ther went deff. ok not really but it was sweet.

CAI sucks in colder, denser air, which is better for the engine. SRI is located under the hood with tons of hot air. so yeah, CAI out performs SRI. if you don't care about performance and just for show, SRI is good. if you care about the air temp for you engine, CAI is a better choice. SRI is easier to clean the filter. and yes, when you slam on the gas, the throttle opens up and it's loud (shorter piping helps too)...

They just opened up a website. You can purchase it there I believe.

Another question on TPR, how does it sound? Ricey or one of those nice growl??

if people knew exactly where the filter was located in a CAI...they wouldn't worry about hydrolocking.

CAI. but im still scared of hydrolock. SRI heatsoats and if you're looking for performance, get CAI. However, SRI's are much louder. It's crazy.. my friend has a SRi in his rsx-s and i have a full cai in my car... his is freaking loud.

what a lot of people are doin is taking the carb sticker off other intakes. TPR isnt labelled so it looks like a generic intake, and people just use the CARB sticker off an old injen or whatever. I am lookin into getting everything carb approved smile

Both the CAI and SRi will give you some kind of bogging, thats the whole reason why TPR made there intake, SRi, sucked, becuase of hot air from engine where it was located. CAI has always been the best, but, AEM and INJEN have different gains for example, why becuase of the way the tube is constructed and the path for the air flow, all of those factors help with bogging at certain RPM's, each of those CAI's have different powerbands through the RPM band. Now the TPR intake, has been able to compensate that, so if you have the money and patience to wait to get one, by all means, TPR all the way.

CAI IS WAY BETTER BUT WATER IN YOUR MOTOR SUCK TOO, JUST BUY A TWO PIECE CAI AND PUT A FILTER IN THE MIDDLE TO STOP WATER AS WELL TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HEAT SHIELD... THIS HELPS ALOT...

can't you put an AEM bypass valve so stop the hydrolock?
