I think it's the amps. I have the blue one. I love it. My strut bar is no longer next to my terminals. Plus, the blue one has 2 extra acc posts...

yellow top is a deep cycle battery. Red top is not. Red top is geared more for performance and yellow top is great if your running an audio system. I have a yellow top in my car and think they are great. A lot of people just buy the color so it matches their car or their engine bay but different colors have different purposes but they are all batteries still.

If I was to get the red one for my GTS, does it just drop in or would I have to purchase some sort of a mounting kit for it to stay put properly>?

I just put a piece of wood on the bottom of my battery. Nothing big. No big modification. Hope that helps.

$65 eek eek eek That's AWESOME

I think even if we paid about $20 for shipping it would still be cheaper than any place I've heard of on the web. Are you sure you don't wanna sell us some? I bet a couple of people would be interested.

i don't think it cost 20 to ship. I would sell them though. My yellow optima weighed a ton. Where would be a place to ship them? If you can find me a place to ship them cheap then yes i would let some of you guys in on them.

The actual weight of a 34/78 Optima Yellow Top is 45.00 pounds. I remember when I shipped my Tanabe exhaust to someone in Cali using UPS Ground it only cost me about $35, and an exhaust is a lot bigger/heavier, but lets say we use USPS which is even cheaper than UPS we could probably do it for an even better price. I tried going to different websites to calculate shipping on the battery and most of them are about $15 - $25 for UPS Ground. For example, Batterymart.com will ship the battery to North Jersey for $12.95. I know that a companies get discounts because they ship very often but lets say shipping is $30 thats still a lot less than any website offers the battery.

That's all i can get for know because that's was what in stock. thanks guys.

Optima Red Top batteries are designed for all of your starting needs.

Use of superior materials means that Optima Red Top batteries can offer years of sure starts and deliver all the power needed by today's accessory-loaded vehicles. In storage, it will hold a charge longer and accept a recharge faster than a regular battery.

Virbation and jarring, whether from off-road use or major pot holes, can kill a traditional battery. The tightly wound construction minimizes plate movement and subsequent damage caused by harsh conditions - extending battery life. Because of their completely sealed case, Optima Red Top batteries are extremely safe and corrosion resistant. Acid can't leak or spill, making them clean, user-friendly and environmentally sound. In addition, the maintenance free sealed case design eliminates the need to add water or clean terminals.

Optima Red Top batteries are leak proof and can be mounted anyplace inside a vehicle in almost any position.
------------------------------------------------------------
Optima Yellow Top batteries are designed for all deep starting needs.

Optima Yellow Top batteries provide constant performance quality as they are discharging. Even as energy is being drained, your equipment will perform at the same level as when the battery was fully charged. This means you will not hear or feel your equipment slow down or strain for power.

The tightly wound construction minimizes plate movement and subsequent damage caused by vibration and jarring, whether from off-road use or major pot holes, that can kill a traditional battery.

Optima Blue Top batteries are designed for all marine and RV, starting and deep cycle needs.

The tightly wound construction in Optima Blue Top batteries minimizes plate movement and subsequent damage caused by the constant vibration and jarring from waves that are often deadly for traditional batteries.

Optima Blue Top battery cases are completely sealed and extremely safe. Acid can't leak or spill, making them clean, user-friendly and environmentally sound. Additionally, the maintenance free, sealed case design eliminates the need to add water or clean terminals.

Marine batteries often sit for months at a time and lose their charge. But the Optima Blue Top battery has such a low rate of self-discharge, it can go unused for up to one year without recharging, if kept at room temperature or below.

Because Optima Blue Top batteries are leak proof, they can be mounted anyplace inside a boat or RV, in almost any position.

I have the red top and I love it. It has dual terminals so all my accesory things can run off the side post terminal it works great! I was also able to put the APR strut bar and battery tie down over this battery. All I had to do was put a shim under the red top and it worked great. The shim was a 4in piece of 2 by 4. thumbsup

Sorry guys, my car's STILL at the dealership. When I get it back, I'll take a pic. My blue one looks pretty sweet in there. It sits low, cause I didn't wanna put a block of wood under there. Plus this way, it's no where near my strut bar. If I'm not mistaken, there are a couple dif red tops, and yellow tops. Dif numbers for dif sizes. You guys might wanna check on that. Do a search on Optima batteries...

eclipseturbogsx - Payment sent.

But yeah I can't wait to install this. Thank you eclipseturbogsx for doing this!

Do you guys think I should also get a set of ground wires so that I can install everything all at once instead of having to mess around with the battery when I get the ground wires later on?

I wouldn't say BIG. Atleast the Optima has a nice little, detachable handle...
