for some reason i was under the impression that using n20 with a turbo helped spooling and killed turbo lag but i was reading a magazine selling nitrous and some of the kits had a notice on them not for use with turbo why is that?

probably because the nitrous will make the engine run hotter, and the turbo will probably overheat at the nitrous's injection RPM.

But there always is a way around it. Engine tuning is key.

I don't have Turbo or Nitrous, just using common sense in this post. confused

i know that too but what about the myth of spooling and killing turbo lag?

it's the problem of running it on an unmodded engine, i.e. no strength mods (pistons, rods, gaskets, etc...). most I4's run smaller turbos, thus they spool faster, and don't need the nitrous. tuning is a definate necessity, but would have to be perfected, otherwise you run the risk of blasting the hell out of your engine.

for sure build the bottom end and fuel injectors. You can definatley run N2O with boost the problem is that celicas have the MAF or whatever. so anything less than direct port is gona change the way your comp reads the amout of air goin into the engine and therefore mis calculate the fuel it gives to burn. This and boost has a tendencay to kick your car over to the lean side of things or go rich and cross the limit of your injectors.

if your talking runing juice just to spool the snail get a RPM acitvated window switch. Apexi boost controllers are able to control boost based on RPM so in theory you can have it set up to spray on the holeshot or whenever you are below your full boost, and to avoid a detonation senario it shuts off when you start to build boost. no lag and (in theory) no extra damange to your engine.

it is all about tuning thumbsup

it is stupid IMO...

the turbo's spool up so damn fast that the nitrous would have no purpose... and sinse you would have to build the engine anyways... why not skip the NAWWWWZZZ and just increase your boost so you have constant power...

its just a waste of money IMO... no point.

all you really need to do is get the perfect turbo. do all the calculations and get one that fits your cars Carbon FiberM and TUNE TUNE TUNE.

but if i perfectly tune the turbo then add n20 on top that would give me a whole lot more power but is it safe with just a 50 shot and say the xs turbo for example

if you are thinkning about doin that then you would be completely building your block. micropolished crank, forged pistons and rods, and a sleeved block with this you should have no problem throwing whatever at your engine, boost and spray your engine could hold up but everything else will prolly go to shit.
sometimes its not just just putting every performace part on you car just cause you can. use the parts that work together well.
If nitrous and boost is what you want then do it! i know a guy running 50 PSI and a 75 shot all the way. the reason he can do that is because he has it tuned perfectly and changes the settings based even on the temp and such. he has a laptop constantly making adjustments. its pretty sweet tasty

With turbos becoming more and more advanced nowadays theres less and less lag. If you have a quick spooling turbo theres really no point to squeeze on top of it. That comes into question when ur running a huge turbo, that has huge lag. Which i doubt you will be running.

Damn! 50 PSI? That shows what a newb I am. I didn't even know you could boost that high. Plus a 75 shot? What kind of hp does he have? Must be insane.

that hp gotta clear 300 easy but i will have the spray before the turbo so what if i dont bulid my block and run 6 psi and a 50 shot--or use that n tercooler n20 system that just sparays on the intercooler or radiator

Running 6 psi and a 50 shot on stock internals is just asking to blow ur engine. If your only running 6 psi, then theres no point for a 50 shot, ur probably running a small quick spooling turbo, there will be no lag. If you're looking at making like 500 whp and using a huge turbo, then okay, use n2o to spool the turbo quicker, if ur making that much power, ur engine and everything else better be fully built anyways.

so what i got outta that is dont do them both on stock internals-could i use that n tercooler thing with a 6psi turbo on stock internals or is that still asking for trouble
