i have a 2002 gt and i was wondering if theres any kits or places i would be able to change the back brakes to disk instead of the drums

Are there drums in the back on a GT in america.In europe it is disks all the way around. thumbsup

yep. gt's in the US are available only with rear drums. the GTS, however, has discs

umm...I've heard that if you can get some rear disks from a GTS they'll go right in.

well there a bit more too it. you need new brake lines, rear hubs, rotors, calipers and e-brake line. and i think you might need to get the GTS master brake cylinder to support the new calipers. but its still pretty costly

Live42day, let us know if you can get all that stuff for less then the $740 that SSBrakes charges. Still sounds like more of pain then just buying the kit from them. Not sure though.

Well from my understanding all those parts would be included in an aftermarket kit as well. At any rate, unless you spend a lot of time in reverse the majority of your braking is going to depend on your front wheels, I'd probably spend my money first upgrading there.

I have been wondering if there is a kit for this as well... Here is a link i found for the 7th gen celicas http://www.vpower.net/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=205

I emailed them awhile back they replied but i ended up deleting the mssg i believe it's like a 2 hour install or something.. Anyway its only $695.00 check the link out and email them for more info..
