Hi there,
I have a celica 2000 VVT-I (or GT in us).
I bought a AEM CAI 1st gen.
I am now about to go install it and I'm trying to read as much as I can about it.
One of the steps in the manual describes that on the bottom side of the airbox there is (or should be) a Vacuum Switching Valve for Closed Canister Valve, which should be connected to the AEM intake pipe
What I read on the following
site [
celica-club.co.uk] is that his celica doesn't have that. He just plugged the connection on the AEM Intake pipe.
I also read someone on this board also noticed the VSV for CCV not being present.
Is this a known issue?
Is it safe to indeed just plug it?
I figure if that VSV for CCV wasn't connected to the standard airbox, than it won't hurt not connecting it to the AEM intake since it is probably connected somewhere else.
Hope someone with more technical knowledge than me can help me out here.
Immo
