What can you do about cracks in the carbon fiber hood? They're not big and they don't go all the way through the hood... like when you look at the back of the hood, it's all good, but looking from the top, there are cracks. Also on the hood scoop. Can i just get it recoated/clearcoated at a shop and itll look new? I mean, what are the chances that the cracks are all the way down to the actual fiber but the rest of the hood happens to be in good condition? grin

i have the same problem at the front of my carbon fiber hood...i actually talked to my paint and body guy yesterday about it and he said there is nothing you can do about it... you might try to wet sand it, but that is it. even if you clear coat it agian... the crack will come right back through... ... ... make up something and see if your insurance will cover it... that is what i am going to do. thumbsup

ohh dang.. that sucks. hehe but my insurance deductible is 1000 bucks i think so that's gonna be more than buying a brand new hood. haha

oh i dont know one yet. Buying it tmw. That is if it's not too noticable or in bad condition. There's one "huge" crack on the passenger side and on the hood scoop, but the hood scoop i can change out later. Everything else looks shiny and good. I have no clue what brand it is heh but just wondering if i can fix the crack by getting it sanded and recoated.

thanks.. and i will. grin i think im gonna drive over to the body shop next to my house tmw and find out if its repairable. I have no clue how in the world that crack on in there. I mean, if the previous dude was in an accident, the hood would be more damaged, but there's only cracks and retarded imperfections. frown

I'm getting my carbon fiber hood this week and i'm thinking about having it coated with the 3M paint protection film. it's supposed to take shit up to 60 mph.

For all you guys here... do you guys all have hood pins?
