did it start to sound like it was missing? You could have done several things. Judging by the fact that you were racing, you had to have been over 7600 rpm which means that if you hit 3rd you over-revved the fuck out of it. You can throw the rpms to 12000 easy at that speed missing a shift. I think that you bent a/all valve. 99% of the motors repaired by Toyota under warantee are from people missing shifts. Some people would do 80mph and downshift from 5th to second and drive the rpms up over 14k bending and breaking every valve in their motor. They fixed the tranny in the 02+ so that you cant downshift into second under some conditions. If it doesnt start, you for sure fucked your valvetrain. The cranks in our motors are forged and the rods are cast but are strong enough to withstand a few times up over 10k but the bearings are what go. It could be a bunch of things but I vote on valves.

you have a 3 year 60k powertrain warantee. Take it from me, tow it to toyota. DO NOT TOUCH IT.

www.monkeywrenchracing.com [monkeywrenchracing.com] is the only place I know and heard of that sells GTS engines. ANd as for the Injen CAI I would say leave it because an Intake will not cause motor damage, although some idiots at toyota may think it has the "potential" of causing motor damage but thats total bullshit. Im sure every Toyota Tech knows that a Intake system for a car that is carb legal justifies for more air flow to the motor and better gas mileage a bit. Im getting my tranny replaced at not charge to me tomorrow and i am leaving my CAI on there. They cant DENY my warranty coverage because a fucken CAI. ANd they already told me im approved all that stuff.

Hey man, you cant be having as bad of luck as i have. I did the 5th - 2nd shit-shift and luckily i caught it in time to only bend like 4 valves. I just went ahead and got my engine re-built so it has wiseco pistons, balanced & blueprinted yadayada...At least yours will be covered under warranty. Mine was not so keep your head up, it was only an accident. I learned that for my mistake it was a very expensive one and thankfully for working major overtime(and my 93 celi), i was able to pay for it. I cant wait till wed so i get mine back. I got the power fc, exhaust, header, intake...sigh, 2 more days. slap

well i can tell you exactly what happened because i just got my car back for the same damn thing...i was doing 104 and went from 5th to 1st smile hehe what you did is if your oil light is one then you grenaded your oil pump inside you block and now you are looking at 1400 to 1800 to get it fixed because toyota will not cover the engine work unless you get the shift kit they have put in that prevents you from doing that again but believe me its worth it you get a brand new engine a shift kits and a rebiult clutch also for 259.00 they will put in a new clutch...also on an up not any thing you want to do internally to your car i recomended buying all the parts and giving them to the toyota guys and have them put them in i had no labor cost and only had to pay for the parts not to mention its all covered under warrenty since they put them in ( i had a few other things done to so my bill was close to 7 grand smile but thats a diff thread
