TRD will require to drill 2 more holes on each side. the WW V-line use the holes from your stock spoiler...

thank you..i was just about to say this.

the trd base is MUCH wider than the ww base. the wider base for the trd spoiler makes for 4 screws for each side while the ww spoiler has 2 screws for each side.

so a few things to keep in mind:

1. if you have the stock spoiler..your better off going with the ww spoiler so you can avoid drilling extra holes (unless that doesn't bother you).

2. if you already have the trd spoiler...you'll have to shave off the extra 2 holes (they will show) and then obviously repaint. so it kinda sux if you want to switch out spoilers.

3. if you have no spoiler--then obviously you can't go wrong either way. it's then more of a choice of if you want the 3rd brakelight or not.

i have stock spoiler.. so if i get trd one i have to drill 2 addional holes right.. i can reuse the stock holes for the stock spoiler.. because what i don't want is holes in my trunk that aren't being used...

if you get the trd yes you need to drill holes, you can reuse the stock spoiler but you will see the 2 additional holes you drilled to get the trd spoiler. if you think you will go back to stock then get wing west. thumbsup

how is the trd more curver and wider? just the wider base? where is the curve at, the blade? i see how the blade sits higher up on the sides and the obvious brake light. and if you have a stock spoiler and switch it to the trd one i know you have to drill holes but will any of the stock holes show?

look at the fins of the TRD wing. it looks like this /-------\

the WW wing looks more like this |---------|

basically, the fins are what separates the two brands.

the TRD blade has a curve to it too.

WW blade is more a straight line.

no, its not a real trd wing. its a replica figberglass one, i think the real TRD wing is also in fiberglass.

i think the wings west comes in abs plastic (someone correct me if im wrong).

amazing what Gloss Black enamel paint can do grin happywink

yea hte only reason i ask is because i was thinkin about gettin fiber glass one but with the problems i had with my fiber glass trd kit i decided not to cheap out.. so i'm still skeptical.. i like the trd wing but it cost so damn much for the real one... and i think the wings west is nice and all but the TRD one to me looks better.. so i guess your fiber glass wings fitment is pretty good.. where you buy it from?

question...i know that some of these bigger spoilers make
your hatch fall since they are heavy. does this happen w/ trd
or wings west. because i know it happens w/ kaminari. and another
question, how much do new wings west spoilers go for. thumbsup

Answer: although the TRD replica is much heavier than my stock wing, it does not make the hatch fall. The shocks on my hatch are strong enough that it slowly lifts up by itself.

There's a dude on ebay, more like a company, that sells painted TRD wings. sure they are replicas but they have perfect fitment. some people on here have gotten theirs from that seller. thumbsup

You know, im not sure if WW wing comes in abs plastic and fiberglass.

but seeing as the TRD wing is a factory part, they might use abs plastic over fiberglass. thumbsup

sorry for the confusion.

the authentic TRD is made from ABS plastic
the new WW is made from ABS plastic, older versions were fiberglass

The hatch shocks will go out earlier with the heavier wings according to some other people.
