i don't have a GT, but it's similar. it will be loud when you stomp on gas. the performance wise, you can't really feel it. it's not F/I, so you don't get that instant power...SRI is more for show than anything else...CAI peforms better...

you can feel alittle gain in the upper RPM, and sounds real nice when you hit the gas.

i have gts but from my point of view, great sound, esp at high rpms. gains are minimal. but also look sgood under the hood. chekc in my profile. Make sure to get a heat shield.

I have an auto gt but I could feel the difference at the low end and highs. It felt like much smoother when I'm driving. Made it feel like the engine was making less effort to put the same power. But I don't know about sound... it's ok... not as good as everyone says it is...

CAI only has a 1 or 2 hp increase over SRI. If you are worried about hydrolocking then get a short ram but the cai is the way to go for more power. The short ram will lose low end power where the celica needs it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/jlj192004/dynormm.bmp
