i was at a family reunion and my cousin was talking about his mom having tire insurance on her new wheels. i was all shocked cause it didnt seem right to me cause its foolish having tire insurance but its true. cause an uncle in law works at a Just tires where the price of the insurance depends on the price of the tire. i think if its over $100 its like 13 bucks for each tire. if the tire fucks up you just take it to them they fix it or whatevers w/ no questions asked. im not fully informed but thats all i know. thumbsup

i dunno but my tires have a 60,000 mile warranty. So i figure i can just show up when the steel braiding starts coming out and get a new set.

sounds like a fancy schmancy term for age-old "road hazard" warranty that Town Fair has been offering forever, with any extra costs buried in their prices. By offering the "insurance" separately, they will make money off new tire purchases from those customers that decline the $50 four-tire policy. Capitalism 101... grin

most of those warranties aren't a "free tire" giveaway. As far as I know if you show up with baldind tires they will measure your tread depth and pro-rate your "warranty" claim. Then charge you the difference on a new tire.

Not sure about this new insurance one but I doubt they'll just give you a new tire, especially if it's stolen. confused

Yep.
"Xactly!

The pro-rated price is cheaper than a whole tire though! thumbsup

I'm just going from memory, but I think the mileage warranty typically requires the tread be worn down to 2/32" before they will replace the tires (at pro-rated price) under warranty. That's practically bald; most people recommend replacing your tires at about 4/32", so if you put safety first, the warranty is worthless.
