Gar, I hate doiong this people, but the Land Rover plan fell through. Sky high mileage on a dated car. Passed over. Now, here's the deal, you all know I just got into the wreck, and insurance will be Anal Lube for more things to come. So, we're gonna settle for the four doors. Once I nail down the bartender gig, the first three will be affordable easily. Subaru WRX Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Volvo S40 But with a giant leap of faith, we have... Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution(don't tell me STi, I like the EVO better) Now, before you drop your opinions, think about this. I live in Colorado, and it snows a lot, all of these are AWD sedans. I have TWO points left on my license, so performance is not a necessity, but it's there. Money IS a HUGE consideration. Thanks.

definetly not the EVO in ur case... so it's out.
i say choose from A4 or WRX.
however, if you dont mind about the AWD, id say go for Toyota Camry (4 cyc or v6, both very nice)...cos i have in doubt about audi's and subaru's build quality...
Camry is a really really nice car... it's perfect in my book...

My opinions, for what they're worth: WRX A4 S40 Evo Haven't decided if I like the Evo or not. I have a friend with a WRX; definitely nice set of wheels, and I'm actually jealous of my stepdaughter's Legacy. Hang in there, and best of luck!

Wrx if cost wasnt a consideration, but since it is i would go with the EVO it has better handling but WRX has a bit more hp and such.

I only threw the EVO in there just for kicks. I won't get one. It's down between the first three mainly.

how about the new ford mustang the retro version?? any RWD car in snow means a handfull on the roads. since your looking for no more speed drop the evo wrx and audi. get the volvo some pick up and go and there basically swedish tanks with wheels. you can crash at a high rate of speed and be ok. but from your reply the volvo was out...

^^A tie in a bad way, sorta.
Another little thing about my economic situation. I'd be planning on buying all of them used, except hte EVO. That would hafta be made via payments, something which I'm not really willing to do. The other three can be made in one payment. My mom wants a volvo. Personally, I'd probably take the Volvo.

Do not get the A4. My aunt's boyfriend has one, and he hates the thing. He said it might looks nice but he said that he should have settled with a Toyota or Lexus.

Go with the WRX. Its not as expensive, excellent handling, and guess what, if you want to do mods, you can place about $6k in it and it would whoop the crap out the evo, and still cost way less.

Here're the pros and cons
WRX Pro- Blazingly fast. Symetrical AWD. More reliable than others Con- Parents don't like Scoobies. This will be the hardest bump to overcome.
A4 Pro- Amazing interior, german quality/prestige. Con- questionable reliability issues. Expensive insurance
S40 Pro- More safe than the others. Built on a good platform, one that it shares with the Mazda 3 and Ford Focus. Mom wants me to drive a volvo Cons- Questionable European reliability. Heaveier and may not perform as well
Either way, the first mod I'd get for any of those is a chip. Easiest way to pick up HP on a t/c'd car. I'm still debating, but its leaning towards the S40.

Since you live in Colorado, do NOT get the EVO. It comes standard with summer performance tires, not meant for snow (at all). The manager at a dealership near my house told me that it'd meant to be garaged for winter, and even if you buy the recommended snow tires you can ruin the suspension. Can you believe that, a car salesman talking me out of buying a 30K car? If you are looking for a nice 4-Door, maybe you might like the Mazda 6 (maybe new) or Lexus IS300 (used)?

Lexus IS300 is the car I would get...if I weren't in CO. RWD is a liability. how can you be leaning towards the volvo. its the crappiest car on that list. volvos are all about saftey.. in other words there for pussy's. when you are at the bar and some hot slut starts talking to you and then walks to your car with you and sees that your driving a volvo shes gonna be liek , wow i didnt realize i was going home with a 63 year old women. My personal preference is the WRX, but we'll see...

A4 would be great due to where you live. The thing handles like a beauty in the snow and icy conditions. But then again, that's more of a family car almost. Go for something younger

WRX Definitely.
Or maybe think about a Scion TC. They're pretty cheap for a new car. Not sure about insurance though.

Audi A4, it's quite classy, it can be modded subtly and look awsome (think Mafia style.) WRX is great but it still has a decent amount of power and it's bit of a gas guzzler.

I would say the WRX just for the speed part. I'll take pics of the A4. Definitely not a bad car. I rather like it. There have been a lot of minor problems with it since 2002. Brake noise-fixed (needed cleaning?), windshield washers weren't working-fixed after several visits to the dealership, tire went bye-bye-fixed, headlight bulb blew out (no HID's here)-fixed, a CEL-fixed, and some other things I'm forgetting. I can't comment on perfermance wise because it's an auto with that continous transmission technology that doesn't actually really shift gears even in the manual like mode. Same acceleration which isn't that slow, but not as quick as the Celica and does not handle anywhere near it. The thing is also the Audi dealerships are so much better than Toyota I can't even compare the two. They treat you like a King, a free lowner car for repairs, and even once drove and dropped the car off after repairs is nice. But anyways, I step in the Audi and it's a different world compared to the Celica. I do like it and maybe it's because I'm getting old. Damn, I can ramble. Sorry
