Can someone tell me what the difference is between a K04 and a T-3 Turbo.
I know that everyone on this site praises the kit c2gas puts out, but every topic I see regarding this kit boast about how great it is, followed with no explanation why? I'm looking at their stage 2 turbo kit @ ~ $3690.00, and with the min. parts required, I'm thinking it can be done for a total of ~$5000.00.
Can someone post a link that explains this whole mess more efficiently then I can comprehend. Thanks...

Does anybody have experince w/..

Tubo-Performance Kit: $3400.00

Tubular Turbo Manifold, T-3 Turbo, Front Mount Intercooler 8x13x3, 2.0 OD Mandrel Bent Turbo Piping, 2.0 OD Mandrel Bent Intercooler Piping, 2.25 Mandrel Bent Downpipe, 35 mm External Wastegate, Blowoff Valve, Coupling Set, Reducer, Cone Air Filter, Intake Tubing, Steel Braided Oil Line Kit, Boost Gauge, Pillar Pod Gauge Mount, Clamps, and 90 Elbow...

the reason why C2 turbo is so popular and people praises them is because it's the only company that does turbo setup for celica and actually ships thems asap. unlike other company suchs as XS engineering and SF...it will take you forever to get those things shipped. Plus I heard SF shipping sucks...missing parts and etc... so that's my explanation why a lot of people like C2 because the take good care of their customers...

Like he said. They actually take care of their customers. Good luck with that from other companies.

I was planning on buying a turbo from C2 until real life kicked in. But the whole way through my decision, gas kept answering all my questions in a very timely manner. The thing that attracted me to them the most was that their kit can be run on a stock engine.

The main reason people like c2, like has been said is their customer service. Thats what sets them apart from other companies. They answer questions, know their stuff, and are there for the customer. And it doesnt hurt to be able to ship kits asap after being ordered, something no other turbo company for the celica has been able to do. Now as far as getting the stage 2 for $5000, that isnt gonna happen. You're saying you can get all the engine internals for under $1200. Not only that, but you have to figure install costs, labor for installing the turbo as well as the internals is gonna cost a fortune if you dont do it yourself. Also theres no point on getting minimum stuff, you're already spending all that money and already buying pistons and rods, the engine is already gonna be torn apart, might as well buy everything else, valves, valve springs, retainers, sleeves so you can throw everything in while its torn apart. Just parts alone is gonna be well over $5000, then you figure in install costs, then on top of that, extra costs that people dont look at when buying a turbo. Accessories, clutch, flywheel, lsd, gauges, boost controller, turbo timer, obviously you dont have to buy all that stuff, but you do need some of them.

Agreed, 5k is not gonna get you a stage 2, hell not even a stage 1 if you do it right.. Well, maybe you can do it, I paid a lot extra for shipping customs..
but a decent stage 1 will take 5k
And once again... only if you are really a big-number freak go stage 2, stage 1 is really fast. I drive it for over 4 months now and I still think it's very fast, offcourse you get used to it.. but start of with st 1..

hey guys, thanks for all the good advise.
customer satisfaction is very important to me. and yes, i am mechanically inclined, i just believe this install is a little out of my league.
i think i'll start @ stage 1, considering the additional parts i would need to buy. though, here is another question to the people who already have this turbo kit installed. beyond the turbo kit, what additional parts are a must install?
i'm assuming racing clutch, gauges, boost controller etc...
if you would please list the part, plus what manufacturer you recommend purchasing.

Well I do recomend to start with st1. PPl think they need so much power and they have to get the st2 kit right ahead. Its just not true, st1 is allready a huge power gain and most of the ppl would not want anymore. St2 upgrade is allways possible and you would not really spend more money to get them separetly later.

I know my car is a Focus but it's boosted and I can help you with a lot of questions about cost and everything.
I have T3 super 60, but I upgraded about everything in the car internally, and $5000 is a low figure.
You have to count in tuning as well, and how are you going to handle the fuel mapping and engine management etc. I had to get a new ECU in the car by Pectel which cost me close to a $1000 alone. Not to mention my clutch, quaife, injectors...and the list goes on.
