You know the light thst says "brake" when the e-brake is up? Well every now and then when i am driving it lights up and then turns off after a couple seconds. This happens when i am at a stop and then take off, and/or when changing gears. When i was parked i lifted up the e-brake and the light doesn't come on till after the first "click" so i dont know what is going on. By the way i have a 5 spd if that makes a difference. This is really annoying me can someone help me out?

check your connections for the ebrake light should just be a ground wire problem ...i had the same problem with a different car

oh yeah by the way tha reason it pops up whenever you say it does is probably because when you take off, the car is jolted in result moving that loose connection or wire ...so fix the ground wire

^^
Right. When you pull up on the e-Brake, you trigger a ground to complete the circuit to the BRAKE light, thereby making it light up. If the ground is loose, then it will light up on occasion.

If that isn't the problem, then it could be an issue with your instrument cluster, but I wouldn't imagine that being the problem unless you modified it in some way.

hey weasel you check and make sure you need brake fluid?? its "DOT 3" BTW. Go check really quick. Because i remember when my camry was low on break fluid, the stupid brake light would come on. So what I did was just top off the brake fluid and it was fixed.

ok pop your-hood, im sure you know how to do that, if you dont, its a black latch you pull, it is right under the left side of your steering wheel. the brake fluid is located right by the battery. It has a black top on it with clear plastic to the fluid in. Its like right there. It will say Brake fluid either on the side of it? or on top of it. Its like a yellow-ish dull color. Check to make sure its on Max lv or if your low it will say "Min" go check it out.

It could also be a busted breaklight bulb... My break warning light turns on when one of the bulbs in the breaklights doesn't work... However mine is a European version, so I don't know if it applies to the US?!?!
