Celica Forums General Discussion General OCV wiring problem

I was wondering if anyone knew about the OCV (Oil Control Valve), the thing that controls oil for the VVTL-i. There is a wiring problem, I think there is a short, and it throws the P1692 code. Anyone know how long a shop would take to find and fix this short? Also how much it would cost? Thanks.

^^ cleaning this can sometimes clear that code.

Also seems like people getting this code were in VERY cold weather. but seeing you're in CA I doubt thats the issue lol unless you're in the mountains somewhere.

Thanks for the info. I was reading that before i posted this. I was told that it was a wiring problem. I guess i'll try to clean it out to see if it works. Thansk.
