Yep that's what I was gonna say.
As long as you can still clearly see your tail lights thenyou should be fine.

I believe that smoked taillights are legal here. Smoked headlights are not. If you have a question, ask a cop. Sometimes they have a use...

i beleive they are illegal. any modifications to the headlight, taillight have to be state-approved. (therefore only factory smoked taillights are legal here).

however..you probably won't get much trouble from cops, if at all. usually what happens is if you get pulled over for something ELSE they'll tack on the headlight/tail lamp as extra...same thing as tinting basically. you probably won't get pulled over just for your lights..but if your speeding they may tack on the lights just as an extra while they have the time

Check your state laws. They are illegal here in NJ.
I never got harrassed by cops even when I did get pulled over ocassionally for driving like an ass. The cops didn't care or notice.
I had to take them off after I failed inspection because of them.
I need to get new ones or make my own. My tailights must feel naked now.

yeah, ken beat me to it, but its legal as long as you dont get caught, but when you get inspection, yeah, its illegal, you have to have them off, as well as other lights then stock, ie, if you have the silverstars or the mtecs, and its blue bulb or silver and its an obvious that they arent stock, they have to go, i barely got by last time with my clear corners and my clear turn signal bulbs!! He then asked me if my side markers were supposed to blink with my tun signal since i modified them a while ago to do that, and i had to lie and say thats the way it came!!

Even if it was to be legal, cops have ways to f*ck with you. If THEY want it to be illegal, it will be illegal. Even if it is legal, they will make you do something like go by their station with proof and bs like that.

I got pulled over plenty of times and receive those BS fix it ticket for doing nothing illegal.
