I was wondering what is there to do to the engine for 2000 & up other than exhaust, intake, and headers? How much will it run if theres more to do.

You can have the throttle body polished, the intake manifold ported and polished, and the valves angled for more air flow. You can have the pistons and connecting rods replaced for strong rods and pistons. You can have the sleeves re-done for more strength. You can put a TRD Oil Cooler on. The list goes on.

I've got a question...

I don't believe the dealer, so I'll ask here in teh engine work thread:

What should be done as a "regular maintenance" item at 50,000 for engine/brakes/etc. if the oil is changed every 3K and the car runs good.

Dealer tells me I need a $450 "diagnostic" service, wich is BS. Should I get it cleaned, what?

If you're talking about having your engine cleaned, i heard from my auto 101 instructor that it pretty much puts your engine in a brand new type condition and it makes it easier to service and repair it. They throw the whole engine block into some super hot pressurized oven type thing that blasts it with boiling hot water.
About all the internal work for the engine, do you also have to replace the engine block too when you do all that work or can you leave that stock? and i heard that it takes up to two weeks to do all the internal work. that true?
