ok a month ago i blew my motor... now i got the new motor for $1500 and it only has 4,000 miles on it... its coming out of a martix xrs and i was wondering if there is anything different from the motors in the xrs and the gts... i know its the same motor but... is there anything different... like the setup?

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the engine; what's the shop's labor charge going to be? I don't know of any reason that engine can't go in the Celica.

I do believe the fuel injection is different.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Matrix XRS and Corrola XRS have single point, while the Celica has multipoint. confused

THere is lift, and Jameson may be right as to the fuel injection being different...other than that the ECU is different

well if that is true i can use it off my old motor. the only thing wrong with my old motor is internals so im sure that the new motor should be fine... also its the same motor and everything but i just dont know if the setup is the same... like the injectors and stuff

Does the Matrix XRS has 180 or 170? I'm sure the corolla XRS has only 170 but they improve a lot in the low end and midrange... correct me if i'm wrong

this doesnt matter cause it's determined mostly by the ECU.

The Matrix XRS has the same 2ZZ-GE as the celica GTS. it's pretty much a direct swap. Also I think the fuel injection is the same. I'll try to verify this tomorrow just in case.

both cars even use the same motor mounts wink

thanks man... i was looking and XRS has only 170hp and 127tq... i was think that might because of the weight is more on the XRS... i hope to god the everything the same like the injectors and what not... but i can just use my old ecu if thats the case. anyone know where i can find out everything on the XRS and the gts... (like what kind of injectors and etc.)

hp has nothing to do with weight wink and you wouldnt be able to use the XRS ecu even if you wanted to cause te harnesses are different.

check the matrix forums if you want to see pics of the enigne and stuff wink

alright i check out everything and i found out the injectors are different, but he already put my old ones in because he found that out himself... i dont know about the manifold so im going to check into that... im going to pick it up tomorrow i hope... he said something aint running right because of the exhaust seems the be clog up somehow... at first i thought it might me the o2 sensor because i knew that was bad... but he says way different. it might be the cat. might be messed up from something when the motor blew... ohwell... another... another dollar.
