Has Anyone taken off their spoiler before for a no spoiler look? I have to take my car into the dealer to replace an exterior part this is under warranty and falling off (pain in my ace) so I was going to see if they would do it but they would probably charge me. I was wondering how hard it is. Thanks!!!

i'm taking mine off once my kit goes on. the downforce a typical spoiler adds isn't significant...if you get a body kit or drop that would add more downforce than most spoilers do

I saw a 2000 celi without one. it looked uuh...intresting, i didnt think it lookd bad but its all personal pref i guess. Just seems to me that a sports car should LOOK like a sports car. I have the TRD wing and unless a carbon fiber wing drops inmy lap its gonna stay on the car.

I took my spoiler off (non TRD) and think the car looks much cleaner. Removal is very easy. Take off the interior plastic panel (one screw then it snaps out) then remove four nuts. The only annoying part is that besides the 4 bolt holes there are 4 more holes (2 per side) that have little plastic nubbins riveted in. I drilled those out. For now yellow elctrical tape covers the holes. I am making some plastic covers which I will paint body color to cover the holes. Some day I will actually do some proper sheet metal work and fill and paint the holes in properly.
An added bonus is 5 lb less weight. I also removed the rear wiper and moter for an additional 3 lb loss.

Maybe I should wait until I have a bodykit??? My car is basically stock except for the antenna and taillights, no rims - not yet. But I did see a celica carbon blue, tinted windows, body kit, and wingless and I thought it looked pimp

sorry brian..but a sports car is a rwd, 2-seat, high output engine..i dont think the celica qualifies in any of those categories.

haha but yea..insurance is killer on my 'sports car' thumbsdown

the insurance company cares if it's 'sporty', the they call it a sports car. a celica is sporty. and caleb, by your definition an RX-8 is not a sports car because it's a 4-seater and not a high output engine.
