Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Installed new Fuel Door?

OK..So the door in on and all and looks sweet! But when you pull the little release lever inside the car the door doesnt open. I dont know how the hell to get the door open? I need some help on this one especially since I have very little gas. Might be a problem..can someone help!

For the meen time to put gas just pull the lever and have some one press down on the edge of the door by the hinge to open it. Sound like the need the little metal door spring that clips to the door to push it open. When I got some body work done they forgot that little clip it costs like 4-5 dollars at the dealership or take it off your old door.

Same thing happened to me when I put my new Carbon Fiber fuel door on.
You have to take the fuel door hinge spring from your old one and put it on the new one. It's pretty easy to do.

What kind of fuel door did you get?

OMG... I was wondering what that thing was for! I am so stupid. I got the Carbon Fiber one from a guy on this site! So I should have someone hold the lever open then push on the opposite side of the door to get it to open? Sounds like it might work, but I am going to have to wait till I have more hands.
