Sounds like your clutch is slipping? Assuming that you have a standard transmission. Mine used to do that, I would be running around 3000 to 3500 RPM and id step on the gas to speed up a little and i would notice it rise and fall. Then 3 weeks later i NUKED the clutch. And now its in the shop getting an ACT clutch and fidanza flywheel installed. Go have it checked to be sure clutches can get expinseve but make sure you get it taken care of before its to late. Cause i had to put my car on a trailer and haul it 20 miles to get it fixed. Not easy to do on a car thats kitted. I almost butcherd my skirts getting it on the trailor.

yeah clutch could be going. Do this to test your clutch out. While going 35 mph switch to 6th gear and give it full throttle. If you see your tach jumping up than that means your clutch is wasted. Or at a complete stop while your car is running, put your car in 6th gear and slowly let your foot off the clutch, if your car stalls out then your ok, if it doesnt then you have problems.
