when i shift up to 4th gear it doesnt grind, but when im shifting down to 4th it grinds, anyknow what might be the problem?

yeah dude its your synchro.. I had the same exact problem before I got my tranny replaced from Toyota under warranty. When you shift normal through 4th it doesnt grind but when you downshift from 6th and 5th gear, that shit just grinds ugly. Yeah so what year is your car? and how many miles you got on it?

2000 Toyota Celica GTS 172000KM..how much to replace? yeah and the grinding is gets annoying, sometimes the grinding can be loud

yeah man its your synchros...well when i got it done, i saw the prices for the parts and all. It was like over 2,300$ U.S. dollars and thats not including labor. but if you can do it yourself, then more power to you.

When I had my syncro's replaced, it was $3,000+ US.

Definitely synchros...I just had my 2nd gear synchros replaced. They also replaced my reverse gear. I had them install a sport clutch and everything came out to $1900.

if its only 4th gear dont downshift to that gear anymore until you get it fixed
