i did it when i was nervous also, dont worry about it. I had hella condesation in them lights that just had to come out. Starting at 8am with ample breaks and saftey I easily had it done by 12pm. Its like 30min to take lights apart being careful them first time, and then however long it takes you to paint them. I really dont think its hard to mess it up unless you snap something. Just take it slow when pulling the two shells apart from each other, any other questions feel free to ask

i did mine and i'm not satisifed with krylon fusion and painted on the top part of the plastic, so it was a bit more tedious.
i don't have patience and i'm not a good painter
i plan on just getting new 05 lights that look normal and a carbon fiber hood

The stock bumper wasnt that much of a hassle for me to remove. I dunno about the TRD front, though - esp. if its the stock bumper for your car.

here's a scary thought/story for you Darrell, i was trying to paint my rice tails to have a black housing (like tgts2000's) tycs. well i put them in the oven and fucked up. i was impatient which lead me to bending the plastic cover frown Now i gave up on the project. All i need is a heat-gun to reshape the plastic with more control than putting it in the oven.

moral of the story: two wrongs dont make a right. but three rights make a left lollol

well no.1) its the same to remove, just undo the one 10mm bolt in wheel well behind the plastic, then pull edge out maybe 2-3in. and no.2) dont try and paint cheap tailights rofl

yeah honestly. No one in my family has ANY car knowledge or mechanical background of any sort...so me doing this was a big deal in my mind. It honestly takes no time to totally remove your bumper...especially if you have a friend to help you make sure you don't get dings and scratches on it...i mean...i was really nervous but it turned out beautifully and i'm very very glad i did it...i just took one saturday and dedicated it to my car and it was awesome...i'd just make sure you tape off that plastic piece well...and please paint the underside not the top... thumbsup

yea if you do paint them, it'll work with the underside much better than the top.
that was my problem, i did the top.
