^^clutches are part of normal wear & tear, they're not obligated to fix a clutch unless its defective (and since you drive an '02 and its now '05 i think we can rule that out).

Toyota might replace the old clutch with the aftermarket that you got but they will still charge you for labor. Probably $350-500, I'm not sure since my brother and I installed mine ourselves but that's usually the labor cost.

the service rep at daytona toyota told me that she would cover it under my power train warrenty. i think i might go in and have her take a look for me. hopefully she will just replace it that would be nice. besides. i would say it is defective if it starts to fail before 50,000 with out any abuse.

At first I didnt' understand what you meant by tightening the clutch, until your second post. You can tighten the pedal, you have to bleed the clutch, get all the air out and repressurize it. I think its the same for most manual cars.

What you have to do is open the top off the clutch resevior, loosen the cap of the clutch cylinder(untighten only a little just enough to let out a small amount of fluid at a time, DON'T unscrew it or you'll end up with fluid everywhere), and then pump the clutch pedal, this should get out any air trapped in the clutch lines. Next retighten the cylinder then start pumping the clutch pedal while topping off the clutch resevior this should build pressure in the clutch. It's going to be very loose so you are going to have to pump the clutch awhile until it pressurizes, and just keep repeating it until the pedal feel is up to what you want it. I'm not exactly sure on my explanation but I've done it on my Celica and my friends Hondas and other Toyotas. Its good to have a friend to help top off the fluid and tighten the cap while you pump the pedal.
