Is it just me that my car performs better when its colder. For example the weather outside is very cold and i start driving my car when the meter for the cold to hot is on the first line for cold, the car has better acceleration and just plain peforms better, espically when it rains and its cold. As the car gets warmer, the accerlaration seems to lag a little bit and doesnt pefrom as good as when it cold???????? and i know ur not supposed to drive you car when the meter is on the first line, but was in hurry to get to skoo. So is it just me????????

yes.

cold air = denser air = better mixture = better performance rofl

that's why a cold air intake works better than a short ram thumbsup

Car performs better when it's in cold weather, but not when it's cold, as in not warmed up. You probably already know that though.

The rpm's are also higher when you first turn on your car in cold weather. That might have something to do with it.

I don't think so...when I first turn my car on in cold-ass Colorado weather, my car won't hit lift until it warms up.

I think he's referring to idle.

And yes I've experienced this before. It was low 40s outside, maybe even upper 30s. I started my engine, warmed it up, and first chance I got I floored it. The stock intake didn't have a chance yet to heat-soak, it was pretty fun.

It's 41 degrees here right now. I'll give it a few minutes to warm up before I drive hard. Get the juices flowing.

Your mileage sucks like what in the cold, though.
I lost 6mpg this winter!! I was getting 320-350 miles per tank, but in the winter I've been getting only 220-250 miles. I know it's not just the air filter because I just got 350 miles on a tank this weekend when the temp was back up in the high 40's.
