The ad should be up within the next 24 hours. The kbb was 12,620 but I listed it at 13,500 to start off. I love the celica, but I have my mind set on an SRT-4 now. I want a 4 door car (two door was becoming a hassle) and I want a car that is fast in a straight line and fun to drive, and the srt-4 fits that description perfectly. I will always stay here on these forums though! wave

The SRT-4 is a piece. I don't care if it's a 12 second car, it's still a piece.

If you need something fast THAT badly, at least save until you can afford a Mustang GT or maybe a Colbalt SS.

Didn't you trade back in your GTS because you decided it was too expensive? Now you're selling your GT to get an SRT-4

Ok..

why go to domestic...if you want four door POWER screw the SRT-4 and get a STI...will would forgive you for that, but not for a neon..come on man...no matter how fast it goes...its still a dodge neon..i know you can get WRX's for around the same price for a SRT-4..used, but its not like you can rebuild the motor...but good luck in your...neon...

the cobalt ss still only has 210 bhp...its supercharged, give me a break! HA HA HA...its not even close to the same class as the mustang gt's at 300 bhp.

Hey, i wanted to sell the celica for the srt-4 so dont listen to these people who want to knock your decisions...fastest car under $20 grand...and with mopar stage 3 being sold to you directly from the factory, man you really cant beat that...unless that is if you buy a turbo supra. $1400 for the BPU kit to run 11's easily, nothin better.

Nobody is saying the car isn't fast. We're saying they are ugly, poorly built, and you're a chump to consider driving one. rofl

I don't understand all the hate with the SRT-4? frown

I understand some people don't like the styling, but I happen to like it.

And the only thing it shares with a neon is the similar styling, nothing else.

good luck frown

but still bad choice, even though it's what you like.
i just feel a wrx would fit the situation so much better being AWD, FASTER than a dumb srt-4 when you mod it, won't piece out on you, and is an import and has a buttload more parts than that domestic that is butt ugly

didnt anyone else miss that? buddy, you ask anyone who has gone from a celica to another car and ask what was more fun to drive. everyone will answer the celica. its one the funnest cars to drive by far. I can only imagine the body roll on the the SRT-4

if you buy the SRT-4 make sure you have a mechanic...because you will be breaking down alot.

They are fast yes, reliable...no...fun to drive...highly doubt it

You'll spend most of ur time explaining that its a SRT-4 and not a neon, and fixing it when it most likely will brake down someway, and plus you can get way more females than an SRT-4 cough*neon*cough can, and in my opinion, thats better than i faster, uglier car. thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

Wow, this place is full of people that just dont know what they are talking about and I find it extremely funny.
The most hilarious comment was "save up for a mustang gt or a cobalt ss". Wow!

The dodge neon srt4 is far more reliable then most of you think; out of the 6 in the small town I live in none have ever had a problem or even 'broke-down'. I have driven across the states without a hint of a problem and currently have over 20k miles. Sheer lack of knowledge for those that think its going to break.

For the guy that compared it slightly to the WRX, sure the wrx is nice and with a few mods it has the ability to take the srt from a launch (not from a roll) but dont forget that the scooby-doo transmissions are by far some of the worst and most notorious for breaking.

Ugly? I'll admit my '92 mr2t looked far better...but it was a completely different look all together.
Sure the fwd has its downside...but you guys aren't much to argue with about that.
The power...can you name one 4-cylinder sport compact that even comes close to putting down what a stock srt4 does? There are also plenty of reliable 400+whp srts running around...most are even daily drivers.

Ever heard the saying "Dont knock it till you've tried it"?

I've driven a newer celica, its not bad for getting from a-b and stock for stock it handles fairly well compared to a stock srt4. The srt IMO has far more potential.

I'd say sell the celica and buy the srt, you wont regret it and you will fit in great with the other srt owners...we dont bash our own members for choosing a better car.

You have 20k miles and are proud that your car hasn't broken down yet. This speaks volumes about the POS you drive.

We don't go on your board and post biased trash. Please show us the same respect.

By the way.

I suggested the Cobalt SS or Mustang GT because they don't look like econo-boxes. If you're going to buy an American car for power numbers despite all the downsides, you can at least buy one that looks okay.

Proud that I only have 20k and no probs; happy that many others with well over 50k still have no probs. Sounds so much like a POS huh.

I am not biased, just clearing up all the dirty information from all those 'srt4 know-it-alls'.

Dodges break down. All the time. I have friends who own Neons, and they broke down around 70-80k miles. To compare, a Civic is good for what... 120k+ miles before it should be expected to have major problems? And you own a boosted Neon... god help you in another 40-50k miles.

Then there is the whole issue of interior quality. How do you like the carpet on your door panels? rofl

I have yet to hear of anyone having problems period, high mileage or not. If you dont take care of any car then sure, its going to break on you. You take care of it you will have no problems.
The interior doesn't bother me at all, its not ugly and it was a step to keep the great price the car sells for. My wife doesn't seem to mind it in her srt either.

I want you to find me a sample of SRTs with 70k miles. You can't tell anything about a car with less than that. Even Kia's will last that long.

we've got an '03 w/ 75k+ on the srt forums, not one problem so far. One of the srts in virgina before I moved was at 59k and the last time his car was at the dealer (or an auto shop at that) was when he first picked it up.
No worries, please, believe its an unreliable POS; I can accept the fact this world is full of ignorant people. Luckily I am not one of them.

i think the admins should step in because this topic is kinda gettin out of hand with the srt-4 vs celica thing... honestly i like the srt-4 but i would never get one because the dodge badge makes me feel skeptical... good luck with the sale though

i have a plymoth voyager that has over 123k miles on it and it runs great. So i am not one to say that all american cars are shit. but most are and i have seen this. and whenever an american car is boosted then it has an even great potential to break down.

as for you dark...saying that the celica is great from getting from point a to point b, this is what all cars are for. second you say it handles faily well compared to a stock celica...try something like 100x better...i could own you on turns. but as most american drives go...they wont let anyone make fun of there cars...damn rednecks

dude, the only thing i'd say is just test drive one and sit in one before you buy it or even sell the celica. if you still like it go for it, whatever floats ur boat. i would personally never go back to something that looks worst than my car, but if you like it cool. srt4 is becoming the turbo camry, whoever wants a fast car and affordable will go for srt4. its out everywhere.
i gotta admit though, best bang for the buck for power, but not for looks. good luck mate

keep tellin yourself that cycocelica...you might be able to 'own' a stock srt with a bad driver but thats where your ownage would end. Anytime bud, anytime.

btw stefanoc, he has already test driven an srt and loved it.

I have nothing against the celica, heck the gts model use to own my 99 civic si in speed all the time, but when people start saying things that are wrong...then I have to correct them.

There are a few celica near me, all the ones that you would consider a 'car enthusiast' have always come up to me and mentioned how much they like my car.

I have props to Dark for not sending all his srt4 forum buddies to cloud the forum. Good for you man mcuh apprecited.

Ive seen SOME nice looking srts but still in my opinion i wouldnt get it. Its faster but its also a 4 door which doesnt appeal to me. Domestic or not, ive came from a 1990 cougar to a 1969 camaro to a civic to a celica, id much rather have a GTS but my gt will be ok for me. I found early on in life that speed kills so driving a turbo charged car isnt for me.

My dream car at a younger age was a 95-99 eclipse gsx, had everything i wanted, turbo speed awd hatchback. But the dsm engines suck!

Dark only time will tell if the car lasts, your srt probably has better aftermarket support than our damn cars have:( But IMO if we were to race you would win, but id still look pretty damn good!
